View Full Version : Bilstein shocks in the front, Ford gas charged in the rear?

Another question to all of you. The local dealer, recently, installed Ford gas charged shocks -Sure Trackers AS/AT series-in the rear of my Mountaineer under warranty. The fronts are a little weak, but, do not qualify for warranty replacement. I'd rather have Bilstein or Edelbrock all the way around, but, due to the free replacement in the rear..... Am I able to go with Bilstein or Edlebrock in the front having the Fords in the rear with no ill effects? Or should I stick with the Ford replacements for the front?

definitely no ill affects of having different front and back. your ford shocks wont last as long as bilstiens or edelbrocks though. my bilstiens went 50k before i bent them wheeling. but th eford shocks are pretty decent and will last a while.
