ive never used it and i really dont plan to. its pretty expensive, and theres so many products, that it could take the better part of a weekend to do my truck. what i use now is working pretty good as far as im concerned - wash my truck, then clay magic bar, then meguiars wax <-- cheap and ver effective. my current system takes me about 4-5 hours on a saturday.

Tbomb...where did you hear that from? Zaino only costs about 40-50 bucks INTIALLY and it doesn't even have to cost that much if you choose not to buy everything they offer.

I can have my entire vehicle done in an hour. Zaino is a wipe on wipe off wax. When I am not waxing it I use Z-6 whick gives it a shiny wet look and my baby is beautiful in about 10 minutes!! Sounds easy...it is!! Best darn stuff I have ever seen. I currently use products that they sell and it costs me about 20 bucks for about a years supply! 1) Z-2 2) Z-6

The mirror shine is incredible! When it gets rained on...no waterspots!! When a bird poops on it...either runs off or wipes off with one swoop of a cotton towel!

Truly an incredible product and affordable!

The tough part about Zaino is the initial application. Especially the damn claybar. Do I really need to claybar??? Has anyone NOT claybared? What were the results?

Gary said it as it is, period. Its great stuff.

What isd your time worth? 4=5 hours of mine is worth $500, a little more than a years supply of Zaino.

Give it a try.......

hmm, maybe i will give it a try, but there's a clay bar too, right? thats a pain, itll still take me all day. my truck is white, and id like to keep it from turning gray or brown, so i have to use a clay bar. maybe ill try the wax though. for some reason i was under the impression that the zaino stuff was ridiculously expensive...maybe i read it somewhere, or maybe i just had it in my head for no reason. next time i wax my truck is in the winter, so maybe ill give it a whirl.

I have NEVER even thought about a clay bar ( and am not even sure what it is ). I use the rest of the Zaino system and my truck really shines. Therefore, I reckon, the clay bar treatment is not truly necessary.

I have not used the claybar either. Basically claybar will adhere to the paint and act as a glue. So when you remove the claybar it will also remove any raildust and any anything that's in your paint that shouldn't be.

I chose not use to the claybar and my paint shines and gives off an awesome reflection!! I chose to use the Z-5 which is a swirl/scratch remover which was $16.95. It worked though so it was worth it.

Here's what you will NEED: (anything else is your option)
1) Z-1
2) Z-2

HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED:
1) Z-5 (only if you have swirls/scratches)
2) Z-6 (gives paint a shiny wet look)

Just wash car with dawn liquid soap initially as a way to remove any old wax buildup on your paint. Then WIPE ON Z-1 and then WIPE ON Z-2. The Z-2 will go right on top of the Z-1. Guess what? This stuff is so amazing that you can let it dry overnight while you sleep if you wanted and you wake up the next day....walk out and just wipe off the wax. No hard residue!! No #$@$@ as you try and scrub off dried up wax. I use my Z-6 after any wax job and as a general clean job to my explorer. The more times you use Z-6 the better. Dust will not stay on your paint as easily. Smooth texture! Wet look! 1 ounce does your entire vehicle!!

I use Z6 before and after each coat of Z2. The Z6 takes only minutes to apply and wipe off.

It really couldn't be any easier.....

i wish the previous owner of my X used zaino. my paint is kinda dull. so i'll just wait till i get a new paintjob before i get zaino.

Gary, that looks brand new.

Thanks Lee!

I understand wanting to wait to get a new paint job but you don't have to wait unless you have a lot of paint chips or deep scratches. My paint was nothing out of the ordinary until Zaino. It was actually the shine of Zaino that got me excited enough to start fixing it up. Hence the chrome accesories and other performance mods and so on.

You wash your vehicle with dawn dish soap which rids your paint of old waxes and junk. Then you use Z-1 which preps the paint for some magical stuff like Z-2. I used Z-5 which was a scratch/swirl remover ($16.95) and it rid my hood of spider swirls. It also got rid of some minor scratches around my key locks. After the Z-5 is when I put on the Z-2 and WOW! Immediate difference but after the 3rd coat....Oh yeah baby!! lol

Apply some Z-6 gives it a nice shiny wet look plus keeps dust from building up on the paint. Oh yeah...bird poop barely sticks and when it does...wipes right off with one swipe!! When it rains....no waterspots afterwards!!

Congrats on the order Rusty!

You will want to make sure you use 100% cotton cloth. This is key to making sure you don't get spider web scratches back!

Remember that no autoparts store sell 100% cotton (even if the package says it is...it isn't)

I found mine at walmart (or K-mart) or any store that sells linens. The brand is Fieldcrest or Cannon. Walmart sells Cannon/fieldcrest bath towels for $1.50 each and handtowels for like 50 cents or something. I use the handtowels to apply and the bath towel to wipe off.

Good luck and have fun.

I actually got two cloths from Zaino to apply it so I wouldn't have to worry about getting good ones.:D

Thoses are for applicationl what do you use for removal?

Juile is right Rusty...the ones you ordered from Zaino are for applying only. It's good you ordered those as you will use them all at some point.

Just go to walmart or kmart and go to the section where there are bath towels. Then just look at the brand names and look for Cannon/Fieldcrest.

I got mine at walmart for a $1.50.

It is good stuff. Speaking of I need to do mine again. What I have found that will get the wax off very easy is old baby diapers. The cloth ones not the throw away kind

Dare I ask how we found out that diapers are good for that? And not just any diaper...but the cloth ones! LOL J/K

How much is a diaper anyway?

I just did it yesterday, and am very satisfied. I did the whole thing.
1. washed w/ dish soap and dried
2. clay bar'd the whole thing (lots of time)
3. Rewashed w/ Zaino wash and dried (and waited for all the drips to stop).
4. Put on the polish lock
5. Put on the Z5. Cooked dinner, waited for dark, then it was dry enough for me to wipe off.

I'll tell ya, after the clay bar I was really impressed. Even after a really time consuming wash, compound, glaze and wax my paint never felt this smooth and clean. The polish lock and Z5 were a piece of cake to put on and take off, just had to wait for Z5 to dry. After removal, the paint looked fantastic.

Today it rained, but soon I'm gonna put another coat or 2 of the Z5 then go to Z2. Looking forward to more good things!!

GLC,

When you think about it the cloth is naturally absorbent. I think the first time I tried one it was by accident. They were in the rag pile and I grabbed it by mistake.

Not sure how much they are as the ones I use have not been used for their original purpose for well over 10 years now.

Jwrezz,

Congrats my friend as you are well on your way to a beautiful shine!! You are right...the smoothness of the paint is immediately noticeable!!

REMEMBER: you must wait at least 24 hours from the time you removed your wax before you apply any more. It won't hurt anything but the benefits are much greater if you wait.

It was about the 3rd or 4th coat of Z-5 (swirl remover) that I noticed the scratches disappearing and my paint getting slicker and slicker.

Then after I put on Z-2 is when the true shine started happening. Immediate difference after 1st coat but after 3rd coat...damn!!! I also use Z-6. Z-6 is the bomb!! Wet look and dust free!

I have enough left for one more coat and I can't wait. It just keeps getting better and better.

Don't forget about the tips & tricks to help with the reflection. Up and down motion on doors and fenders and a bumper to bumper direction on hood, top, and top of windows and stuff. Gives an incredible look.

How long does the Z1, Z2, Z5 last? How often do you polish it? Been thinking bout getting some but it seems that you dont get much of the product.

Z1 once a year, z2 or z5 when ever ya want. I just put on another z2 yesterday (like the 3rd or 4th this summer) and a 2nd z5 on my g/f's car. The more ya put on the better it looks. You really don't need more than 2 z5 and 1 or 2 z2 though. That'll make it look great. As far as the time spent from n2knee. It's really nothing compared to the cleaner, polish/glaze, and wax that I used to do. Now that took for ever. Yesterday's weather allowed me to spray on the z6 to clean both cars up. Apply z5 to one car and z2 to another, and both dried quickly and were off w/ in 2 hours of start time. The preparation takes a bit of time. Wash, claybar, z1, wash again. But again w/ good weather, you can do it all in a day. If it's humid it may take over a day to dry, but then taking it of is like a 10 min job.

NOW GO GET SOME!

i should have been more clear. i meant to say it takes a lot of time applying the zaino products. it took me quite a few hours (i'll say half a day) on my first application. i had to wash and dry the truck. then i had to apply the clay bar and washed the truck again. after drying the truck i had to apply the z2 and z6 several times.

I just had a quick question on Z1. I know you use it the very first time but then is there ever a need to use it again?

To quote from Zaino:

>>Z-1 Polish Lok™ is recommended twice a year on everyday vehicles and once a year on show cars<<

Good luck.....
