View Full Version : Removing cement from paint

Hello Group,

I noticed quite a few cement splatters the right side of our '94. They range in size from a pinhead to a quarter inch smeared glob. I've tried fingernails and hard-maple tongue depressor wood to try to remove it mechanically. No dice.......it is on there quite tight.

My work is on a street with a cement company and I pass the trucks continually.

We tried vinegar pads, but it just isn't strong enough to 'touch' it. Any ideas here? Muriatic acid?

Thanks for any leads.

Ron N.

How about spraying it with a CarWash Hose, or a Home Pressure Washer? maybe the pressure of the water will get under the cement and lift it off.

A friend of mine that works in the concrete biz said that if you spray the spots with WD-40 for a couple of days it will get behind the crete and soften the wax, then just spray off... I guess as long as you have wax on your X it shouldn't eat the paint...I've never tried it but it may be worth a shot...

I bet a cold chisel and a hammer would get it off! ;)
