Hello all,

Just found this board today and I gots a question for everyone.

I got my first explorer, 91 V6 4.0L 4x4 4 door with 140,000+ miles on it, runs great and looks near mint.

I am interested in what exactly the law says (Minnesota) about interior and exterior lighting. If someone knows or has a site I can read up on it that would be great. I found these lights that screw onto your valve stems and are battery powered and when your wheel starts spinning they light up and form what looks like a solid ring of light around your wheel,

I allready have some other lighting on the interior but im not sure what the law says. The wheel lights are red if that helps any.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me

-Matt

you should probably ask a local cop.

if those lights flash, then they are probably illegal. also, stay away from red and blue colored lights.
maybe try posting a thread in the performance lighting section. lots of people with neons know the laws pretty well, and i'm sure they can help you.

welcome to the site

i dunno about the law.. gotta ask local authorities.

however i can make a comment about the tire lights....

I dont' know whither your looking at the "tire flys" or the oringal makers...fusevsl.com which makes a over all brighter light, that stays on all the time... but either way when put on a stock explorer tire the light will not appear as a whole circle.... even at speeds of 60-65 they will not appear as a circle... i've had mine since easter... i love them!! but they won't appear as a circle just so you know.

also, tip, i'd buy the fuse ones, they are a little more but they are brighter, and if you get the ones that go on and off with the movement of your tires and sense light and won't come on if its light outside, you'll start wanting to leave them on all the time and I know for a fact they will get stolen, you can ask several friends that i had it happen to.... buy fuse vsl they are great.
