Hopefully I can explain this well enough...

How do I close the vents for the A/C on my 2000 Explorer XLT? I want the air to recirculate and not to take in air from the outside. I thought this was a standard feature on any car with A/C but I cant for the life off me figure it out.

It used to just be a pain in the but when I was behind a bus and all the fumes come into my car, but now due to the tragic events here in NYC I cansmell the terrible smell of ash and fire from the WTC. :( Its a chilling reminder and a horrid smell.

So what can I do about these vents?

Turn your selector knob to Max A/C. That is the recirculated setting.

Thanks!!!
You would think I would figure that out.
I just assumed it was to get things even cooler but then again there is a fan speed setting.

Doh!!
Now I feel dumb.

Thanks anyways!!
