Well I guess I blew the autohubs this weekend, I was climbing a pretty steep hill so I put her in 4lo and had to do a sharp turn at the top and the hubs started clicking and the front end seemed to shudder( never did it before ) so I called ford this am to have it fixed and there telling me it's normal at full turn....

Even when it's never done it before???? BS

Any way I'm just wanting to know if there is a manual hub conversion kit for the 99's or am I stuck with the autohubs..

I've done a search but everything comes up 95 and older..

Thanks

The '99 doesn't have locking hubs. Your axle shafts are permanantly mounted to the wheel. And yes, at full lock you will get some shudder/vibration occasionally(along with assorted clicking/groaning noises). It happens because both wheels want to turn at the same rate and can't so one skips or slides.

OK, Thanks I figured they were shot since It had never done this before. I just felt like the dealer was giving me BS cause they didn't want to change them..

So I guess there just getting broke in eh...

There's nothing to 'break in'. The truck just makes sounds when you are turning in 4lo. It's normal. The sounds won't go away with time. My '92 did it, and so does my '01.
