I JUST POSTED THAT I BROKE OFF THE REAR BLEEDER VALVE ON MY 91 XLT, AND AFTER READING THE FEEDBACK I CHANGED OUT BOTH MY REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS. THANKS GUYS!
I BLED MY BRAKES LAST NIGHT AND THEY ARE STILL SPONGY. THEY WILL NOT PUMP UP.I BLED THEM HAVING A BUDDY SIT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. WITH THE KEY ON HAD HIM PUSH IN THE PEDAL AND HOLD IT DOWN, THEN I OPENED THE BLEEDER VALVE AND CLOSED IT, THEN HE LET UP. IS THIS THE WAY TO DO IT?
IS THERE A SEQUENCE TO FOLLOW(LIKE STARTING IN A CERTAIN SPOT OR WHICH WHEEL NEEDS TO BE DONE AFTER THE OTHER?)
I KNOW THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT METHODS TO BLEED BRAKES BUT ANY HELP ON HOW I SHOULD DO IT DIFFERENT, OR ANY IDEAS ON WHAT ELSE MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS WOULD BE APPRICIATED. THANKS!

Did u bleed all 4 wheels or just the rear ? Why were u messing with the bleed screws on the rear anyway ?

According to my manual, the proper sequence is right rear, left rear, right front, left front.

What you described is generally correct. You have to bleed the brakes until you see no bubbles coming out.

Just a question, did you make sure you kept the master cylinder full when you were bleeding the system?? If you have abs and you let any air into the master cylinder when you were bleeding, you will probably need to have a shop bleed it for you. Letting air into the master cyinder will cause air to go into the HCU (Hydraulic control unit) and will result in a spongy pedal. The only way to clear this (according to the manual again) is to plug a special anti lock test adapter into the control module.
