JDraper 10-31-2001, 08:55 AM OUCH!!:( Sorry to hear that! I hope your insurance covers it!! Brian8 10-31-2001, 10:03 AM I am realy sorry to hear that. That sucks big time. Stephen S 10-31-2001, 10:11 AM Man that truck is too pretty to be rolling all over the place!! Sorry to hear that!!:( Yomie 10-31-2001, 10:49 AM Ouch, damn man, sorry to hear that. You haven't had it long enough to do that. RFR2212 10-31-2001, 10:50 AM Hey, that definately sucks! Hopefully insurance will cover it. I had a minor fender bender while wheelin, and State farm paid for the repairs... so that was nice... keep the hopes up... Pete CADDYBILL 10-31-2001, 11:05 AM Sorry to here that. Just think about all the new mods you can do now. Elder Elemental Evil 10-31-2001, 11:49 AM Geez Brian, just how did you manage that? Good thing I already have some pics of your truck for your page :D Demon4x4.com/BGreen Do me a favor and give me some information to fill out the form on the bottom of the page. Trckmagik 10-31-2001, 12:29 PM Hey Mudd! Its a 2001 not a 99. :) I am still very upset. Elder Elemental Evil 10-31-2001, 12:33 PM oops, I knew that, I was just checking to see if you were paying attention... Cheer up buddy! you'll have it back together in no time, probably faster than mine... Alec 10-31-2001, 12:37 PM all I have to say is OUCH! Trckmagik 10-31-2001, 12:40 PM I dont know! It is pretty much toast at this point! windshield is gone, Roof is smashed in! Windows are gone, front fenders bend in to inner fender, hood gone, bed gone, and the cab is smashed, This is junk yard bound! I will take some digital pictures tonight! Hopefully someone can post them for me tomorrow. Kris Guilbeaux 10-31-2001, 02:13 PM Brian, E-mail them to me I will host them for you. kris@explorerforum.com Again like I told you earlier in my E-mail I am Sorry for your loss... Gofast 10-31-2001, 02:51 PM Brian, Sorry to hear about your loss. Just for the record... I wasn't there! I wasn't anywhere near him. I didn't spot him! I didn't tell him to do it..... Rob Trckmagik 10-31-2001, 04:23 PM Well guys! I am not feeling to well! Ive had a minor surgery on my lower back in the past and it is acting up again! It hurts pretty bad when I walk. It looks like it is going to be a total. The cab is way to tweaked and bend to even try to fix! Just so you know, the cab of the ST held up remarkable well for the amount of rolls we did. I am pretty much screwed as now my already high risk insurance is going to drop me. Why me? Like I said I will get some pictures tonight and have Kris post them tomorrow. Be careful on the trail. Stephen S 10-31-2001, 05:07 PM Are you gonna give us the full story with those pics?? How did you manage to roll it?? What were you trying to do?? Man that sucks!! drmoore71 10-31-2001, 06:21 PM i am so sorry to hear about your loss. good luck with the insurance. if you like, i have a buddy at farmers in austin that i could hook you up with. take it easy, i can almost assure you it'll get better! leenjen 10-31-2001, 07:03 PM that was a nice looking truck. that really sucks. the important thing is that there were no serious injuries. ok89 10-31-2001, 08:02 PM I am sorry. Hopefully you will be able to get your old Explorer working good again. Maybe even part out the ST. I'm sure everything will work out alright in the end. Good Luck with the insurance company and your back. BTW... Where were you wheeling? Perry 10-31-2001, 09:09 PM Originally posted by trckmagik Well guys! I am not feeling to well! As for the back, give it some time. I have had two back surgeries and I've done some things since that makes it hurt, but so far it goes away. Can't say that will happen to you since I'm not a doctor, but it might just be sore from the roll over. If you have insurance they hopefully will pay you then they can cancel you. If not jack out the posts so you can get a windshield in that thing and start wheeling. The next time you roll it won't feel so bad. Good luck!!!!!! ok89 10-31-2001, 09:11 PM Put a roll cage in it and make it the first soft top ST. And herculine the entire body RangerX 11-01-2001, 04:16 AM As someone with experience in this dept., consider buying it back from the ins. co. after they pay you off for it. You should be able to match the offer they get from a junkyard, assuming it is totalled. Then swap everything out into an older cheaper Ex. Trckmagik 11-01-2001, 09:37 AM Yeah we have been looking at all the options! I finally put a cover over it last night so I wouldnt have to look at it! And to keep the weather out! :( I was to sore to take pictures yesterday so I will try it again today! We will see.......... offroader_69_me 11-01-2001, 09:04 PM Just wanted to say that SUCKS and I hope your back gets better soon! Rick 11-03-2001, 01:45 AM Brian, I heard the news while I was at SEMA. Sorry to hear the terrible news. I hope everything manages to work out for you. Trckmagik 11-05-2001, 11:17 AM Thanks to all for the concerns! I have been to depressed to even try to figure out what I am going to do! I did take pictures but dont know when I will have time to put them up! Ohhhhhhhhhhh I am sad..... and physicaly beat up! Elder Elemental Evil 11-05-2001, 11:21 AM Is your back feeling any better? I can post the pictures if you want. Yomie 11-05-2001, 11:25 AM Brian, i know how you feel i wrecked my Newest vehicle on 14 October and i was hurting all over. Even thought alot of us have never personally met you , we're all like family and i (i know others do to) Hope you fell much better soon! Take care man! TwoToneX 11-05-2001, 05:06 PM Oh man Brian, I'm really sorry to hear that happened. I really hope everything works out for you, and I know that I speak for everyone when I say that we're all here to help you if you need anything, I just hope we can. Best wishes bro, and please keep us updated :( :( :( Kris Guilbeaux 11-06-2001, 11:28 AM http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled2.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled3.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled4.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled5.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled6.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled7.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled8.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled9.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled10.jpg http://www.tisd.net/~krisg/images/STrolled11.jpg RFR2212 11-06-2001, 11:49 AM Damn dude... that does F*in blow.... My quesiton is... Is it running? Cause to me, I think in some way, it looks salvagable... A cage, soft top, I don't know that it's necessary to get all the body immediately fixed... Just the necessary stuff... Hell, I think I've seen Perry fix more damaged roll over vehicles.... My guess, is it looks salvagable to me... But all in all, that whole chain of events does suck, hopefully yer gettin better now... Pete leenjen 11-06-2001, 12:57 PM i agree with pete. but then again, maybe it looks worse in person than in the pictures. JDraper 11-06-2001, 01:14 PM Man, that's depressing to look at. Brings back memories :( . Although, if the frame is still straight, I'll bet the insurance company will fix it instead of totalling it. If I remember correctly, it won't get totalled unless the repair value exceeds approximately 80% of the book value. Good Luck, and hope your not as sore anymore. Just a thought, if they do total it out and you buy it back, go find a ST that had the front clip wiped off in an accident, buy it cheap and swap out the cab. That's the hardest part to fix. LOGJOCKY 11-06-2001, 01:32 PM Thats a shame cause that truck is sweet. I also think it looks kind of salvageable. A soft would look really sweet. And the front end dont look all that bad as long as it runs. Trckmagik 11-06-2001, 01:37 PM Yes the truck still runs great! It didnt even knock the alignment out of whack! I should find out today if they are going to total it or fix it! I am feeling better now! I am 23 but feel like Im 43 :) I will let you guys know as soon as I do...... mattadams 11-06-2001, 01:38 PM dang it hurts just looking at it! Sorry to hear about that! Trckmagik 11-06-2001, 01:58 PM Well, I just got of the phone w/ the appraiser! He is going to need until tomorrow 11-7-01 to get me the final verdict! As of right now he said it is looking like a total loss. Every panel would need to be replaced along w/ the damage to the bed and the roof! Ill keep you posted! YetiX 11-06-2001, 02:02 PM You can appeal if they call it a total loss and see if they'll reconsider. This is especially true if the numbers are somewhat close, i.e. 80% of the value and the repair estimate. If everything's still straight, you should think seriously about trying to keep it and fix it yourself. BTW, you never said (that I saw) how you did it! Good luck to you, mattadams 11-06-2001, 02:08 PM Brian, what you oughtta try and do is see about getting it totalled out and then buying it back from the insurance company. Heck I'd buy it off ya if the price was right! Assuming frame is still straight and all, just fix enough of the body so that you can shut the doors and roll up windows (and windows are optional) and use it as your hard-core off-roading machine! :) Stephen S 11-06-2001, 02:12 PM WOW...I don't know what to say. It's such a sweet truck, it hurts to look at it like that. Yeah man, how did it happen?? ok89 11-06-2001, 04:15 PM Buy it back and now you can wheel it like all hell cause you won't have to worry about damaging it. I would seriously look into a frame mounted roll cage and soft top though. Looks like you only need a new windshield to make it street legal again. RFR2212 11-06-2001, 06:42 PM FIX IT! FIX IT! Hell, chuck in a straight axle, roll cage... hammer out that hood, make low cut doors, and yer set! Pete Keach 11-06-2001, 09:23 PM DUDE! Glad to hear your okay, don't sweat it, You've got a new project. Think outside the box! God Bless! rpenner54 11-06-2001, 10:25 PM Originally posted by RFR2212 FIX IT! FIX IT! Looks fine to me! :D Trckmagik 11-07-2001, 01:34 PM I am still looking into my options! If they total it I may get a 94 as a daily driver then take the rest of the money and built my 92 back up! i.e solid axle, 4wd conversion, engine rebuild. Thats my first plan, if that doesnt seem reasonable I may be looking at something besides FORD for a off-road vehicle that comes stock w/ a roll cage shhhhhhhhh. I dont know! kubben 11-07-2001, 02:47 PM Originally posted by trckmagik I may be looking at something besides FORD for a off-road vehicle that comes stock w/ a roll cage shhhhhhhhh. I dont know! Wheeling the Explorer was fun but once you get a vechicle you can tear up wheeling becomes 10x more fun. sirhk100 11-08-2001, 04:27 PM All I can say Bro is WOW!!! That's a bummer, I'd definately have a really wierd feeling down in my gut and stuff if I was in your shoes. That was definately the sweetest ST I'd seen other then the one at SEMA that Baja Shop built. I'm agreeing with the majority here and saying to let them total it and buy it back. Find out who Baja Shop had make all their Glass fenders since the molds are already done you may be able to pick up the fiberglass fenders and stuff cheap. Get the cab pounded out and cage teh inside, leave the inards gutted, rhino line the interior and build a simple custom aluminum dash with only the necesities (sp?). Keep the interior clean and simple. Swap out for the solid front end and you'd be up there with Rick's Explorer!!!! Paul Gagnon 11-12-2001, 02:19 PM See if you can buy it back then straighten out the roof a bit, slap a D44 under the front and go wheelin'. Trckmagik 11-14-2001, 08:42 AM Still not sure what I am going to do! Its gone! I will get a new 94 Explorer and get the solid axle put under my 92 Explorer! Thats kinda what I have decided to do! So there is alot in store for the 92. Dannyboy 11-14-2001, 12:19 PM Where do you get a new 94? Doug 12-03-2001, 02:19 AM Wow that sucks. If it makes you feel any better you're not the only one. a friend of mine dumped over his step brother's 94 mazda B2300 when he fishtailed and hit an embankment. You can read the blow by blow action here. http://www.rangerforum.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14717 Trckmagik 01-23-2002, 08:45 AM New, news! Here you go.http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=42241 sohowcome 01-27-2002, 05:52 PM Shewwwwwwwwww that doesnt look good ouchie ouchie........ Trckmagik 01-28-2002, 02:04 PM Yea it didnt feel good either! I guess you live and learn! I think I will be better off in the long run 2001ExpSport 02-27-2002, 08:09 PM WTF!?! I would be soiling my pants it that were my truck. Sorry to see that man. Well, you know, some good things do come from bad. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Look at it this way, you'll get a lot more mods for the money on a 94 and 92. Trckmagik 02-27-2002, 08:34 PM Yea, I hear ya. I am just glad both my friend and I were buckled up. The sunroof was open and someone would have been thrown out of the vehicle. I will be starting on my 1992 4wd here in the next couple months, then ,making some mods to my 1994 to use as my tow vehicle. R.I.P Sport Trac....................................... Sniff Sniff red96camaro 02-27-2002, 11:13 PM wow, really sorry to hear that Trckmagik. Hope everything works out for you. I know what it is like to loose a lost vehicle :-( but that is how I got my X :-) weebo 03-05-2002, 01:36 PM I'm with all the people here that say fix it. My mom's '94 was quite a bit worse than that when we bought it to rebuild. My new '97 was close to that...though no roof damage, but major damage to the drivers side front. I'm sure it looks worse in person, but I'd rather rebuild the newer sport-trac than drive around in a '94. Glad you're not too injured though! It's been a long time since my last flip & roll, but it's something to be remembered forever. Randy Trckmagik 03-05-2002, 01:42 PM Actually, I like driving around in the 1994 better than the ST. I have always been a bigger fan of the 91-94 which is why I have owned: 1992 Ranger 1992 Explorer 1992 Explorer 1994 Explorer 2001 Explorer ST I like all the metal on them as opposed to the plastic that they put on the newset explorers. Just my opinion. weebo 03-05-2002, 02:06 PM Totally understandable! I sure hope that I like my new '97 more than I liked my '92 though. With all the goodies it should be quite a bit better, but overall I can see your point about the toughness of the steel vs. plastic. Randy Trckmagik 11-15-2002, 01:51 PM Well its been a little over a year since I rolled it and it is still a very sad day when I look at the Pics. WannaBTrckmagik 11-15-2002, 03:08 PM If it makes you feel any better, I have some everlasting scars from the rollover you can look at! He he Kris Guilbeaux 11-15-2002, 03:57 PM Brian, I miss the Sport trac as well. But remember it still lives on in spirit. Also it is coming up on a year since you sold me the Green Explorer. I bought it from you in Feb. 92ExplorerNate 11-18-2002, 03:53 PM 1st the worst  2nd... 3rd time is a charm  Glad to see your okie! Hope to see the new X project Beefy and ready for anything! X-mas is coming, and so is my X :D Trckmagik 11-18-2002, 04:17 PM Pictures of my new trail only vehicle are in my Signature. Click the link. It is the white 92. Roll this one and we just put it back on its wheels and keep rolling. |
