This was an inch by inch thing until it was obvious I wasn't going to make it. Had to get pulled out of this one without power. That water was just too close to the intake. By the time they had me strapped, the cab was full of watter. Pulled up enough to start it and then drove the rest with help. Opened the passenger door and let the water pour out. Took me an hour to clean the passenger carpet.
TarHeel085 11-12-2001, 10:23 PM haha, roflmao. :mattmoon: thats pretty good, bet ya learned your lesson!
mattadams 11-12-2001, 10:24 PM holy crap! I want to know who volunteered and hooked up the tow strap! LOL Matt you are way too crazy :).
Jason_25 11-12-2001, 10:38 PM How in the heck did you keep water from getting in the intake? Do '01's still pull air in from the fender?

No, the stock box pulls air from behind the passenger headlight. I have a the KKM intake so it is farther back.

LOL, they strapped from the back so it wasn't so bad. Tony ended up yanking me out. You didn't meet him. Here you can see the slop we were in, it rained all day.

Kris Guilbeaux 11-13-2001, 02:10 AM Its Ok Matt, I know how you feel...
Blue Steel 11-13-2001, 11:21 AM should have tested the waters with a stick or something first, but then again, it wouldn't have been as fun! must have had lots of fun cleaning that muck from the interior. now you're going to have to figure out how to vaccum seal the interior so no water gets in next time you want to convert your truck to a submarine
COMMOCOZY 11-13-2001, 12:26 PM MAtt that second pic, i went through that. It was a little deeper this time :-) i was getting a little worried, as it was getting pretty close to the intake . When i looked out the door it was a few inches away from the trim on the side.

Let me guess... they all stood around and took pictures for 10 min before they pulled you out, right?
