well, only a week after blowing the engine in my supercharged 1999 T/A, I was struck in the side by a b!tch in a sunfire and pushed into a telephone pole, which stopped me from rolling. The car is totalled, and we've replaced it with a 2001 Durango R/T. The wife wanted the Durango, and I didn't have energy to argue since I'll spend this winter rebuilding the LS1 motor in the T/A.

PS. everyone walked away completely unharmed...

I'm glad to hear that, based upon the images. Much worse than my accident, where a 16 year old girl turned left in front of me. I center punched her right front wheel doing about 30 MPH. Like you, I came out OK, but it was something I don't want to experience again soon.

glad your ok. Sorry to hear about that.
My question is...

http://12.31.231.167/images\rear_door_2.jpg
In these pictures it looks like that rear passenger door somehow didnt get damaged while everything else did. Is this true or is it somesort of weird illusion (or bad vision on my side)

Man. that thing took a serious blow! Glad you're ok though. Vehicles can alway's be replaced... even with Dodge Durangos :D People are irreplacable... Except for Bin Laden and the likes of him :shoot:

Damn that sucks! Glad to hear everyone is ok though.

For thoes of you that noticed that the door is still fine, this is very common in accidents. Haven't you ever watched the crash test videos? In every case the door pops free from the door jam.

Any particular reason that it does that? Is it some sort of extra security measure?

What happened was I was hit on the drivers door, which sent me into the curb sort of sideways, and the truck started to tip after it hit the curb. the utility pole hit the rear pass side window (really close to the back of the truck) and righted the truck, smooshing in the back end, but leaving the door intact. It was pretty scary, it took all of about 10 seconds but I remember thinking "when's it gonna roll" and "how am I gonna die" about 100 times in those 10 secs. I didn't black out but honestly don't even remember the truck looking that bad till I saw it at the salvage yard the next day. I definately don't remember starting to tip, but with the angle that the truck hit the pole I must've been pretty close. if it hadn't been for that pole....

Insurance paid off the truck and I got a check for $900. :D

If it were me I'd be getting a check for a heck of a lot more that 900 bucks.

Soryy to hear about your truck and I hope everything turns out for the best. Along with the passenger door it looks like the tailight came away without a scratch!
