this poll is for all of us who spend dollar after dollar on our x's. I spend money so i can go where the average man wont dare, some of us spend money on our x's just to make a statement and never take it off the pavement. so who likes to get dirty? and who likes to just stay skeeeerrrrdddddd..........? that is my poll. mike
forgive me i dont know how to do the bar graph thing.

Even though my Navaho has 230,000 miles on it, it aint no "Street Queen"! Its been to (and driven on) Los Coyote, Tera Del Sol, Tellico and others.

I'm actually Go & Show!
I want my truck to look awesome but at the same time I'm not affraid to take through anything. I'll do anything! I don't want dents, scratches are ok. If I can get pulled out, I'll try any mud hole, sand dune, or hill climb.

All in all, I love my truck! I'm a firm believer in driving a Explorer the way it is ment to be driven.

:DScar's are reminders of memories and those last Forever!:D

Anything goes just shy of Body Damage. The damage I've had got me upset but by no means will stop me!:bounce: :bounce:

It has to be for "GO"

If it is built for GO, then it automatic is a show on the road because people really stop to look.

When we did CCR2001 we were leaving Ouray and a tourist group in a Jeep stopped and took pictures of our convoy as we passed by.

Besides if you want a fast road car I wouldn't pick a Explorer for that. (sorry Splat!!!)

I think ours is just for show. We NEVER take it offroad. ;)

Okay, so I lied. It's all GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although, we do hate getting dents, also.

I like my ride to look nice, but I'm definitely all GO!!

uh, guys i think my x is feeling a little left out after viewing this thread. what does my sport truck x have to do to fit in? it's show and go, but not like anyone else here. I'm afraid it might need counseling, maybe some new show and some new go parts. wheres the go as in go straight pulling a trailer or wasting imports choice in the poll?

Well I am all for the go. Don't get me wrong I love to have my X looking all nice but do like to go places.

Mines built for go, but I also like to show it too!
There is nothing that says it has to look Sparten to be go. After all the one main reason we bought the Explorer was to have creature comforts like A/C, space good heating, Plush seating, otherwise we would have bought J@@ps.:D

Well since I started this thread I have painted the entire underside 311metal flake blue, and have a set of rock sliders being made as we speek, gonna buy some diamond plate bed rails for a long bed dodge and take them to my airframes shop where I work and have them transformed to be mounted on the top and outer sides of the bars for some looks and yes I finally washed my truck last weekend ha ha. anyway found a guy who wants to trade me my rims which are tri-spoke ultra's for some alluminum centerlines so will put my tires out farther so my tires wont rub on my sway bars anymore, getting a digital camera for x-mas and will post new picts soon, wanna see now do a search for my name and "finally got picts to work" and you can check it out. later mike:eek:

It's all built for go, but why can't I make it show quality at the same time? All my neighbors are worried I'll scratch it when the paints done. Please, just try to keep up.....

I really don't like breaking stuff, but if it happens it happens, been pretty lucky so far. It seems everytime we go out somebody tears something up. Most of my friends trucks only remain unbroken the first couple weeks of hunting season and then its to the garage with a couple cases on a sunday night.

redrig are we the only lifted X's that dont offroad?

well easier said than done. I'm built for Go, but probably show more than go, not because I don't want to go, but just don't have as much time anymore.

But when I do go, I gooooooooooo.

My big GO this year will be to Frisco, CO in July for some wheeling in the Mountains. Did it two years ago and had a ball.

Rx4phun
02-28-2004, 07:09 PM
i cant afford to really wheel it and I got an ATV so it is just an X on 33s that is for show, pounding pavement mile after paved mile

I am "Show" all the way. Anything to make it look GOOD !!!!

02-28-2004, 10:32 PM

redrig are we the only lifted X's that dont offroad?
Nope....me too. Although I want it to be "go" just not yet. Atleast need a locker for my 2wd.

Since my truck never see off-road. I'd say show for lack of option. ;)

03-31-2004, 05:27 PM
i dont offroad and I run 33s which I now see as a waste of money rather than looking cool, so dont feel bad

Show. It's too new to make it 'go,' and too pristine. It'll 'go' in a year or two. :)

Show
Gotta go, have a dead bug on my airdam that I need to deal with, Bye

05-17-2004, 05:51 PM
Both show and GO, but the show I will glady sacrifice against a tree or rock for the go aspect of the whole ordeal.

:)
More fun that way, build it and clean it, detail it, just to beat the crap out of it and get it dirty :)

DocVijay
05-17-2004, 07:05 PM
Well, since mine is only 2WD, it's very limited on the go part, so I guess for now it'll have to be more show, but only because of mechanical constraints.

The only thing preventing me from having my truck lifted is the lack of extra $$$. I did try going on an offroading adventure to New Hampshire last November, but alot of you know the outcome of that :(

I am willing to accept any donations........lol!! j/k

I believe the scratches and dents show my GO:D

Blee1099
05-20-2004, 04:30 AM
The scratches & dents in my truck only builds character.. Then again I'm a nut case behind the wheel on the trails.

bobdreadknot
05-20-2004, 10:33 AM
i dont play in mud thick enough to get scratches but i still got character. im both show and go whether im on the road or on the trail i strive to make heads turn.

It's all Go here. I want it to look good, but all mods are to make it wheel better and to get my a$$ home.

I wouldn't exactly say I go were the average man wouldn't dare to go, my truck is set up mostly for the beach. My parents live in Cape Hatteras, NC, and I go down there AT LEAST once a year, nothing like a free vacation! Before I lifted my truck & put the 31's on, she would bottom out a lot in the deep soft sand, now she cruses the beach with the best of 'em!!!

all my mods (completed and planned) are for performance, handling, and ear candy. if it was for show i'd probably have to take better care of the interior and exterior.
