How often do you rotate your tires and do you do it yourself?

Well, I try to rotate mine every other oil change (6000 miles). I usually do it myself, but I have lifetime balance and rotation from the place I bought my tires, so I take the truck there every now and again to get them rotated and rebalanced.

My tires are always rotating when I'm driving, I don't know what YOU guys are talking about!

I've yet to rotate my tires on my rig. Seing as I've gone from used 235/75/15's to used 31's to used 33's to used 35's to new 35's in the space of a year, I've yet to need to. :confused:

I do mine every 5k. This is a great way to increase the life of a set of tires.

I do it when ever the shaking becomes more than I can stand.

Every oil change 3k . Makes it easy to remember and the tires are gonna last forever . ;)

i wish i could do it every 6000 miles. but i just dont have the time. i just had mine rotated a few weeks ago (23,000 miles before rotating), and they still have plenty of tread. and they dont have any uneven wear (but the rears were more worn than the front. probably from spinning them so much when i got them).

I do it about every other oil change. So about 8k. But with my new Michelins, I am going to baby them for a while and get a really long life.

I must admit that I have never had a set of tires long enough to rotate them for totally different reasons. Before the recalls I had tires replaced due to steel belts that were showing and slight tread separation little did I know that Firestone was run by idiots, then I had tires replaced for flats, and then finally twice for recalls. Never had the opportunity to rotate them, but I’ve had my last set for a month, so we will see if I have them long enough to rotate.

Other: when it seems necessary, usually about every 10k. I would do it myself but they always seem to get out of balance or alignment or something so I've never been able to just rotate them.

Every oil change.. which is around every 6k-10k miles..

We get about 50k miles per year on the truck.. and this last set of tires is now at 48k miles.. 32x11.50 BFG AT-KO.. so we must be doing something right.. oh yea.. the truck still pulls to the right.. and always has.. but the tires wear evenly (except the rear wears faster than the front.. due to the detroit locker)..

I rotate mine once a year when I'm preparing for the state mandated safey inspection, Since I'm pulling the wheels anyway to inspect the brakes.

Every oil change, 5000KM (about 3000 miles). So it keep the tread dept equal, and they never get rounded in the front (TTB conception). I've done this for 4 years/75,000km now and still am good for another summer (will change before winter).:exp:

I rotate my current ones if I'm bored... I'd do it routinely, but they're old, worn out, and soon to be tossed in favor of some new tires... In which they'll probly be rotated ever 6k

Hmmmm, interesting concept...I havnt rotated mine yet, put about 20K miles on it since I got it, I have been meaning to do it, and will in the next week or two when I put my new brakes on.

i don't have a schedule for it. i just do it when they look uneven or when i think about it or when its starts to ride bad or whatever.

I have a rear locker, so I feel good about doing it every oil change. If I wasn`t locked I would feel alright about doing it every second oil change.

The tire dude said it is a good Idea to do your first rotation at 3000mi(5000km) after getting a new set of tires, then around every 6000mi(10000km) after that.

Every 3,000 on the STi, 6,000 on the Ex when I owned it. Not sure what my brother plans to do with it. The STi's tires wear out really quick, so I'm trying to get the most out of them. If MapQuest is right, after I drive home this weekend, I should hit 3,000 miles just as I roll into the driveway :) (Yes, I planned it that way. Yes, I am a dork.)

10,000 km (6,000 miles). The place I bought the tires from does it for free and while I wait. Can't beat that.

Rotating your tires is supposed to help your tires last longer correct? I have AWD....won't they wear out just as fast? Or is it because of steering? I rotate mine about every 6000 miles regardless.

I don't see the point to rotating them. My tires wear evenly as it is, and so far i've got about 30k on my revo's and they're about half worn i'd guess. Just seems like a waste of time....

never. i but cheap tires that will go bald within 40k anyways, but i usually total or destroy my truck or car before the tires go bald, or wear unevenly.
