hey, anyone have these on your daily driver? how long do you think they'd last on-road with some off-road?

i like the way they look, but i wont get them if they will wear to fast.

so any info on these would be great. thanks!

well I hope they are as good as everyone says because I ordered a set of 35's this last weekend, but they are on backorder because according to the guy at 4wheelparts in Colorado Springs " the idiots at the factory were moving the molds around and someone nocked the 35" mold off and broke it" oh well what ever they are supposed to be here in a week or two! Just gives some more time to save the $$$$$$$$$!

do you guys think the pavement traction and wet traction would be good?

what about tire life? they will see 97% of their life on-road, and the off-road they will see (for now) would be some mud, and dirt, and just some regular fields and whatnot. no rock crawling, or very little. but there will be some fairly steep soft hill climbing (short hill's 2 or 3 truck lengths tops) that has some fist sized rocks in it.

these are going on my Jeep, however, the stock tires have a bit of life left in them, so they will stick around until i need new ones.

so, Offroader_69_me, can you keep me posted on your tire issues? how they feel off-road, how they feel on-road. how quickly they wear down etc. and also what pressures you run on-road. also road noise, and wet pavement control. how they handle at speed and all the rest. im talking full blown report on them, can you help me on that?

im not going to upsize tires on the Jeep, because i think the stockers give good height on a ZJ, and i dont want to sacrifice acceleration because there are very few straightaways around me, and i definately want this thing to get me where i need to go fast.

do you think i would be better off with the XTerrains or some BFG A/T KO's? no matter what tire i get, im going to get the center treads siped i guess, i heard it really increases traction.

I've just put some 33's on about a week ago but I am planning on recording tread depths for mattadams' tire test. I belive that there is a 40 or 50K mileage guaranty also.

There is some road noise but it's not bad. There's also a pretty good vibration between 0 - 5 mph that makes the dash and my change in the cupholders rattle pretty good.

I don't know about the gas mileage yet because my speedo is so far off.

I've also had the BFG's and still have tread on mine after 130,000+ miles but they were only 30's.

I've got them and love them. Traction on wet pavement is good - just don't hop on the gas around a corner! Tread wear is also very good, but it is important (with any oversived tire) to keep your front end lined up!

I like mine so far, they are quiet and grab well in all conditions, like fmexplorer said though you have to watch the alignment, also if you lift big check your brackets on a regular basis for loose stuff, locktite is cool but doesnt always hold ,:D

what is the smallest size they make them?

Jeep's run small tires (for a YJ, you need a 3" lift to fit 30"x9.5", and even then it kinda rubs under full compression & turning), and i dont want to lift it.

im thinking about just getting BFG T/A KO's. i was considering some Mud Terrains, but they are louder, and with a 5.2L and a Flowmaster and a FIZPK (whatever that thing is called), it'll be the right volume, so i dont wanna add the hummmmmmm of a Mud Terrain.

31x12.50 is as small as they get...

looks like i'll be getting some BFG's then. i dont want to have to lift my truck and all that crazy stuff just to fit some X-terrains.

but i hear that the new BFG Mud Terrain's are much quieter on-road, is that true? im gonna ask a buddy of mine who has a 99 YJ with BFG KO's what kinda noise they make.

I just bought a set of 33X12.5/15 Xterrains and had them mounted! Got the "buy three, get one free" deal from 4 wheel parts wholesalers.

Except for still having to trim my front fenders a little I love 'em!!! Can't wait to try them on the trail!

we build the Pro Comps here at Cooper, too. im not sure if it was my plant that broke the mold, but i remember hearing about a month ago that a guy was changing molds and dropped one and broke it. it left a 3" deep hole in the concrete! they change 'em with a forklift and a BIG strap; idiot didnt have the strap hooked right. i wonder if its gonna come out of his pay?:hammer:

i just put on a set of xterrains in 31x12.50x15, like them alot. they seem to perform well in rain, snow, and dry conditions. havent taken them offroad yet. also have a set of bfg t/a ko's in 32x11.50x15, they handle well also. the xterrains are noisier and definitely have a pleasant hum and shake under 20mph. i would recommend both tires so far.

They are very good on wet roads and dry. I like the look alot. Had to be different, everyone here runs swampers.
