yesterday i was coming home on 295 (in NJ) just cruising along at 75mph and letting the crazy wind blow me all over the lanes and i noticed my rear wiper was dirty so ah what the heck might as well clean it! i flick the switch...the wiper goes all teh way over and on its way back WOOSH the blade comes flying off and i watch it sail off into the distance in my rear view mirror. thank god there wasnt anyone behind me or that would of been bad. just gotta find a place that has the wiper blade now...im still laughing about it...its odd b/c ive used the wiper a billion times before with no problems and all of a sudden...i dont have one! ah oh well :D

did you lose the whole arm or just the blade/blade holder?

yeh - that can suck, had my 93 since new and the first 4yrs i had it the only place to get them was at the dealership, but since then i've been able to get them at murrys auto supply w/ no problem (appx $8) anco makes 3 or 4 different styles alone, good luck.

a buddy of mine has an 82 Volks. Jetta and we turned the sprayers sideways on both sides, so now when we are driving and see a car with the windows down, we spray. get's em every time. always good to get the hot girls, and be like "oh shit, i guess its broken" then again, they are repulsed by the Jetta so he only does that when im in the ranger or the Jeep following him. so they are like "look at the freak in the Jetta, oh, but here's a guy in a Jeep/ranger, i bet he's cooler"

a guy named monochromus on here did that a while ago ;)

my friend and i did that during high school on his old banger honda. we reangled them so they sprayed forward, and installed a stronger pump for the spray. those things shot at least 35 feet. it was hillarious. going 10-15 miles an hour we'd chase people and squirt them.

Just wait till your drivers front wiper comes off while your out in the middle of no where while its snowing. It sucks. I had to put the passenger wiper on the drivers side so i could make it to town to buy a new one. Listening to metal screetching against glass for 20 miles can make you go crazy. I always carry at least one of my old blades in the explorer just for that reason.

Does your wiper arm not stay in the straight up/cleaning position?

That happened to me with my other vehicle. The wipers were frozen to the window and it was raining/snowing. I thought it would be alright to turn on my wipers. It ripped my wiper off completely and bent the arm. It only went up and down the window 2 times before i realized what happened and shut it off but it was enough to make a nice scrape on my windsheild.

hm i should of saw this coming! it was pouring yesterday so like any normal person i put on my wipers. low and behold my passenger side wiper blade starts to wiggle out of the fixture and im in a major road so i cant pull over so i drive home in the rain w/out any wipers and a rubber wiper blade hanging off the side of my car! enough of these wiper crap! i went out otday and bought 3 new assemblys so im all set!
