I couldn't get the Duelers so I sufficed for 33" Firestone Wilderness AT III. I got each tire for $101 new and I like these tires so far on the snow covered roads in upper WI. Does anyone have any comments on these tires?

I had the 31's on my truck before the recall (i know the AT III's weren't recalled but i wanted the duelers) so i talked 'em into it. but i liked them (they are the ones with the triangle lookin tread right) i believe so the same ones i had they did awesome on the trails and in the snow, but don't expect to go Mud Boggin' in 'em but overall they were good tires. real quiet on the streets (quieter than my bridgestones) and they were lookin like they would last forever, not wearing too quick

this is with my 31" firestones

I don't care what they call them, I would never get a tire from Firestone........... Have not liked their roadhandling abilities at all, car or truck, when I've had them.

Yes those are the ones Yomie. I take my X to school and go home every weekend which is a 2 hr. trip one way. I bought these hoping they would last me a while. I wont plan on mud bogging w/ them...I have a friend with a set of 32" swampers mounted on bronco II wheels in case I want to go. I already learned my lesson about mud bogging with road tires in the past with my F-150...and that is another story...

I highly recommend Michilin tires...especially the cross terrain or the LTX M/S

The Cross Terrain is only for SUV's that never see anything other then pavement. They aren't even M+S rated. The M/S is a great snow and wet tire but horrible in mud. My LTX A/T's a ho hum in mud but amazing in snow, which is what I wanted. Go with a Michelin. They are excellent quality and will last a long time.

Are you sure?! My Michelin cross terrain go off road, they go in deep snow, they go in everything. They are MUCH better at everyting i listed above those those wilderness AT were. I also tow with them and the ride they give is smooth and controlled.they have higer traction and treadwear ratings then the LTX M/S. I did my homeowrk, these are a better version of the LTX M/S.

The Cross Terrains don't have sipes that go all the way to the outside of the tread. That is what makes a tire a M+S. I'm sure they are great tires, I can't imagine Michelin making a tire that isn't great. But they don't have the traction that th M/S does. My mom's 99 XLT has the M/S's and my friends mom's 99 EB has Cross Terrains and my mom's handles much better in snow. So I would say that the M/S's have more traction, but both are excellent tires.

Well, i have never had a set of LTX M/S, but the research on www.tirerack.com and on www.michelin.com both show the Cross terrain as better winter tire then the LTX M/S. the LTX M/S scores 1 point over the Cross terrain for off road traction, but other then that the cross terrain is rated equal or better. Here is where I find my info:
