can't help you with those wires, but when i wired my wifes radar, i used the power feed going to the rearview mirror cause it had a constant power flow for the autolamp switch & the electrochromatic sensor, works fine.
good luck

Have you checked to make sure that the blue wire is actually 12V, and the black is actually ground??? If you don't have a multimeter, get an automotive bulb (like a dashboard or brake light bulb) and connect it across the two wires (or go buy a 12V circuit tester at Wal Mart for about 7 bucks). If it lights, you have hot and ground. If not, you picked the wrong wires. Also, are you sure you have the hot lead from the Radar Detector wired to the +12V lead in the truck, and the ground lead to ground?? If they are reversed, it won't work either.

i did and they are 12v but when i put the wire for the radar on it, and it drains the power by about half but it still doesnt come on. ughhh...

Have you tried the Radar Detector in a standard 12V outlet??? If so, and it's working ok, you may have just tapped into a low current 12V sensor line for the thermometer or compass (I'm not sure what the X uses for sensor voltages or current levels.).

well its the sunroof switch i have been tryin to wire it to. i dont know why its not workin. what do you mean a reg. 12v outlet, like the cigarette lighter?

Cigarette lighter is what I'm talking about. The sunroof line may not be a true 12V line. It may be floating until you hit the switch. I'd go for another line.

yeah thats what my dad suggested as well, what other line up there should i tap into>??

OH and another thing, in the process of this i accidently cut my wiring to my elostro mirror. um can i take ut the sunroof motor to do this easier?

Curtis do you have the high series center console? If so,m just tap into the cigarette lighter there, that's what I did and it works great.

Are ya sure, mine has a "door" that flips in and out and sort of hides it. It would be located on the passenger side under the dash sorta.

oh that thing! yeah i got that. so you ran it up through the dash or what??

Well you can pull the plastic panel out and splice into the wires for it Then run the wire out and behind the carpet under the dash and up the side of the dash to the radar.

Seems it would be a bit of a PITA to run wire from the lower counsel all the way up to the RV mirror. There's gotta be a way to do it from the overhead counsel.
