I just finished it I took some left over tweed and made a design. There you go! It looks alot better since the leather on my center console was ripped. Tell me what you guys think.

No, It is not hard. The hardest part might be the design Ive done this a couple of times. Ive made some flames in some of my buddies trucks. Basically tweed is a very expensive material that gives the truck a custom look. You can get it at mainly an apolestary shop its about $25 a yard. To make the design I used a 1/8 inch foam and cut out my design. Using a web adhesive I glued the foam down then worked the tweed from bottom to top making sure the emblem would pop out as much as possible.
If you need anymore help in doing this connect me and I can answer your questions since I do know a little about doing this.

Looks great! Just ,my opinion, but I think it would look better with cloth seats rather than leather.

I'd like to do that in my X, on the console and maybe even the doors, headrests, and ceiling or headboard or whatever its called. Is it pretty tough to do? And also, is there anyway it can get ruined, like if u pressed on it really hard will it go out of shape or anything? let me know, thanks!

No, it will not get ruined if you press on it. For the design I used a 1/8 inch foam and it is held down by a web adhesive glue. The only thing with tweed is that it gets dirty easly.

is it pretty easy to clean or tough? I've heard its tough. Is there any alternative to tweed that can be used to do this?

I wouldnt think it would be that tough to clean. Its just it can get dirty easly. There is a different type of tweed, its not really the same texture but it is similar and a lot cheaper when I did my buddies box for his subs, we experamented with that and it works well but a little thinner than the tweed I used. We had to be careful because the adhesive would seep through. You can get this cheaper material at wal-mart atleast thats were we found it.

on my '91 toyota pickup I covered everything interior in tweed. I've never done anything that's received as many compliments as that. The dash, door panels, headliner, visors, etc.

It's not too difficult to work with, it just takes some practice and patience. The tweed I used had a 1/4" foam backing which was very neat to work with, cause you could peel off the foam for a thin material, or leave it on and get this cushy look. If you're covering dash panels I've found that hot glue works very well on the back side to hold the material in place.
