before i was always thinking speed was the funnest, until about 3 days ago i took my truck in the local pits and had the time of my life! it was awesome...except that my stock truck was eaten up by the trails. i went into a huge puddle, got through my engine shut off, and would start...my friend had to come pull me out of the pits...so now i need to know how i can put my truck through the pits and have me come out on top not the trail...all help appreciated

The best thing you can do easily is a 2" (approx) suspension lift and some bigger tires. Do a search for torsion twist on the forum and youll come up with a good amount of info.

how big of a lift should i get for 31 or 32 inch tires? i was thinking 3 inches...?

Like Namitey said, it would be best to do the torison bar twist some shackles then you also do a search on a body lift, like 2" or something. Works well then you could get some 32's on there. Also might want to consider how much you are going to be driving this off road and gears you have. If you have a low gear ratio then i wouldn't want to get any bigger then a 32. I've 31's with 3:73 and i don't mind it but i wouldn't go any bigger, personal opinion though.

Happy trails!!

what do u mean the best u can do is a 2" lift??
My bro is running an 11" lift and 38" tires on his jeep, powered by a corvette LT1 engine and a racing tranny

No Silverblade, this is what he said
The best thing you can do easily is a 2" (approx

And that isn't far behind on the "best youc an do with an Explorer with IFS. Not trying to be mean but the biggest lift they make for ours is a 4", now you can do BL. I wish our lifts were as easy and as cheap as Jeep lifts.

Happy trails!!

I sure hope that Jeep sees dirt, unlike most "4x4"s around here.

Yeah a lot of our 4x4's don't see much dirt, we like to take them in the mud and over rocks!

Happy trails!!

To get the engine in, soooooo much of the thing had to be converted to chevy, tranny, transfercase and all the crap underneith that im too lazy to list.

give me your email(who ever wants a pic) and i will send u some pics of the outside and then the engine bay.

take note that this was the 2nd day he owned it all done out so i took pics and it has NEVER been so clean again

I wish...

well anyways, right now the jeep doesnt have the stupid Cartunes decals all over it(had to replace the windshield) but the cool spiders are still on, the front bush bar is rusting a bit in the corners so he needs to rust remover it, the whip(huge a*s antenna) is off now because somebody thought it would be funny to walk up to it, snap it off, and leave it on the ground beside the jeep, once again...people are stupid.

OK:

-Laser alarm(come within a foot and it sets off without touching)
-405 horses:eek:
-turbo 350 tranny
-oversized carb
-cobra CB with PA and loudspeaker(SOOO fun to yell at other drivers and play music for pedestrians(including the ice cream man song on my cell phone))
-Sound bar(over top of your head in front 2 seats)(2 6x9s)
-10 lights
-8 inch susp. lift
-3 inch body lift
-35x12.5 Mud Terrains
-Eagle Alloy rims(5x4.5)
-chrome bush bar, grill, and rear light covers
-MSD ignition
-Pioneer deck with 600 watt Phoenix gold amp and 4 12" subs
-Bikini top and tunnel cover
too tired to think of all the other crap but there is a lot of goodies in there

Doesn't look like that jeep has all that lift my buddies jeep on has 7 inches and he runs 38.5 inch boggers, it looks a lot taller than that, I have a 3 inch body lift on my Explorer, 2.5 inch suspension lift, 4.10 gears, 35x12.50 dick cepek mud terrain tires, True Trac locking differential up front, Ford factory limited slip in rear diff, Ramsey 8000 lbs winch, bear cat cb radio, snorkel and plenty of other mods, however I still have my 4.0L engine. I run with jeeps a lot at some trails by my house. They Break to much, I will stick with my Ford. Dana 30 and 35 snap waaayyyyy to much for me. Did he get rid of those axles after he put that engine in or does it break every hill he climbs?

Yeah for an 11 in lift that thing looked weak next to a stock Ex.

Silverblade

The leafs in the front are straight flat right now
It is like 6 inches or so im not sure but in a few months it will have new springs so it is back to 11 and either 38s or 36s and new axles so therefore new rims(cheap black steelies)

Once it is back up that high he is gonna take out the body lift if he goes with 36s and maybe even with the 38s depending on how it looks
