I made one modification though: I replaced the grille with a US chrome one.

VairKing 03-10-2002, 07:21 PM I tried to vote, but it said I didn't have access to it or something. Anyways, it looks pretty cool. The grill looks like the limited model. I like the rear bumper and the side directional indicator. Very cool thanks for sharing.
I really like the tail lights. I wouldn't mind picking up a set of those!
leenjen 03-10-2002, 09:17 PM i like everything but the sealed beam headlights. it looks cool, especially the tails:)
Jason_25 03-10-2002, 09:21 PM That's a great looking explorer you have there. I love the fender flares and the bumper-integrated reverse lights.
I love the placement of the license plate.
rpenner54 03-10-2002, 10:17 PM Wow I love the overall look of that thing! To me it looks way better then anything over here! I love the headlights! Talk about cool man!
Raceit 03-11-2002, 12:16 AM Wow. No 3rd brake light.
I wonder if it has all the emsions and smog crap that we have on ours? Will those have more hp?
Telford 03-13-2002, 09:02 PM Nice rig! I am interested in what type of headlights you use. Ours are plastic lensed, which limits most upgrades for lighting. Yours look more like the rectangular Hellas I have on my Broncho II. Can you find us a contact point that might be willing to export the headlight mounts to us over here? I am sure there would be quite a bit of interest in that. TIA for the info.
SWISSexplorer 03-14-2002, 03:19 AM Hey thanks!
Well my headlights are glass. It could be Hella but i'm not shure.
As the european Explorers are built in the USA you might get a euro headlight through a Ford dealer or directly from Ford.

CADDYBILL 03-14-2002, 11:36 AM Very nice! I like the rear bumper, cool.
spiper 03-14-2002, 11:55 AM I really like the front and rear bumpers. Tail lights are cool too. Is there a way for us to order those parts?
Steve94LTD 03-14-2002, 12:06 PM I like it a lot :) :) but it needs some clear corners.. :D
Hammer 03-14-2002, 12:09 PM The front end looks like the Mazda Navajo, I never liked those.
There is something about the tail gate that looks cool. I think its just cause they are pretty much all the same and this is something new.
FORDisKING 03-14-2002, 12:14 PM I looks like a modified Limited. Nice though.

Looks nothing like a Navajo Front end to me. Looks like an Explorer Limited Front end.
config 03-15-2002, 02:25 PM Wow, that does look nice! Haven't seen one on the roads here in Italy or Austria yet. Neil: maybe we can get together some time. I haven't got a chance to go to Switzerland yet. I do know one thing, I get more looks from Land Rover, Mercedes, and BMW X5 etc. drivers while I'm driving my "X". It's one vehicle they don't see very often. Some Americans here say it's too American (meaning you stick out too much) driving the "X" here overseas. I'm glad I shipped it over instead of my wife's Town and Country (which they have plenty of) :)
