Ive tried just about everything but the SOB is still pinging! I cleaned the MAF, I cleaned the idle control valve, Ive reset the computer i dont know how many times, including today. Today i changed the plugs & wires(went with bosch plat 2's and bosch wires. Thats a job i dont want to do again for a while! The motorcrafts that i took out looked they were installed in the factory!) Anyway, running GREAT but still pinging when i get on it hard. Ive got a superchip and use 92 premium, no octain booster. I tried booster but it didnt take care of it. Is there anything else to do? Its not really a BIG DEAL, but it just bugs me. Any help will be much appreciated.

Does it still ping without the superchip installed?

my two cents
1) check for leaks in the air intake downstream from the MAF or a vacuum leak
2) have you retorqued the lower intake manifold bolts?

Yeah, sounds like a vacuum leak. That's what happened on mine, it would ping under any acceleration, and that was with the octane bar removed. You could try removing the octane bar by your battery. It retards timing 3 degrees. If it still pings, it's a vacuum leak.

Try changing out the PCV Valve.

What does the Octane Bar do and how does it work? Where by the battery is it located? Thanks.:exp:

Removing the octane bar should only be used as a last resort. It reduces engine power dramatically.
