can anyone tell me how legal pre-runner bumpers are

im talking about completly removing the stock bumper and replacing it with a pre-runner bumper

or are you just supposed to leave the stock bumper alone completly

also how legal is it to have no front bumper at all

i see lots of trucks with pre-runner bumpers or no bumpers going around and i know no one says anything to them i just dont want a probable cause for the cops to pull me over and find out about other things i.e. im not sposed to be driving people around yet

thanks

As far as I know, nothin is wrong with it. Like Tarheel said, Rick doesn't have one, and last I heard, Rick's rig is 100% street legal.

However, if you aren't supposed to be driving people around, the best way to not get in trouble for it is to not drive people around...Just a thought...

I don't think there would be sooooo many people without their stock bumper if it was illegal. I've had 3 trucks without the factory bumper and "pre-runner" bumpers. I wouldn't worry about it.

in california you must have a front bumper....most of the time cops dont really care about mods on trucks....rick also lives in arizona and his explorer is not street legal.... it has no bumper but also has beadlocked wheels which are not allowed per us dot rules... i also have no front bumper...or windows...or... :)
