I own a 99 Explorer Sport with the no frills cheap seats. They are pretty crappy and my back is none to happy. I know there was a leather interior option and was wondering how the seats are that came with that package. Are they worth swapping in?

When I say no frills I mean non adjustable cloth seats. They don't have enough lower back support for me. I really notice it on long trips. I was wondering if the leather seats had any kind of lumbar adjustment.

aha, those seats. my cloth ones are 6-way ajustable with manual lumbar. i think (think being the oprative word) the leather seats came with air lumbar and are definatley 6-way.

That's what I am looking for. Didn't know if there was a better cloth seat than what I had. I'll have to look around and see if I can locate your seats. Thanks for the reponses.

Code_Monkey,
How you ever sat in 1st body design (91-94)Explorers? The ones with the buckets seats are very comfortable! When I used to have a '92 the seats were the best. My current '00 is comfortable, but not as much than my old '92. Both were leather, but the cloth were also same design. In other words, if you want to change the seats out, I would try to locate one, which should not be that difficult.

Don't know if this helps, but my 97 XLT 4 dr has very comfortable cloth 6-way power seats with the electric lumbar support adjustment. Driver and passenger sides.

My '95 Sport has a 6-way power cloth seat with electric lumbar and the passenger seat is manual but still has the electric lumbar. Maybe look into an earlier year seat.
