View Full Version : Damn! The Best Anniversary Ever!!!

Teri

Char may have topped the guys list for best birthday...but Perry has just topped the gals list for best anniversary!!:bounce::bounce::bounce:
Fri was our 21st anniversary. Perry had given me an invitation to go out with him on that day over 2 weeks ago. Boy did he ever do a lot of planning in those 2 weeks!!! We dressed up for the date. Perry had a big present in the living room, and when I opened it and saw a food processer.....I asked him if he knew you arn't supposed to give kitchen appliances for gifts? He laughed and said I know that's why I got it.
So Perry drove his dad's fancy explorer they had just finished fixing up ( Perry said it was our limo) to Estes Park. The mountains were very beautifull with the snow on the trees. Perry tried to drive in to an A&W....but I knew we didn't dress up for that! We ate at Dunraven. It is a very good Italian resturant. Then we crused around the town, and Perry pulled into American Wilderness Lodge. He made me stay in the explorer while he ran upstairs to the room. He already had a key, so I knew he had to have already been up to Estes that day!
When I took me into the room, he had lit about 4 candles!! He then gave me another gift that was already in the room (along with balloons). It was a box of candy eggs. One egg caught my eye...when I picked it up, I realized it wasn't candy. Perry told me to open it up, and when I did I found a diamond ring inside. Boy did I cry!!!! This was the ultimate gift, as Perry has always said in the last 21 years, that he could never figure out why someone would spend so much on a silly ring. And, as he mentioned, the ring was his straight axle.
I think Perry had a good time, he actually had to say NO!!lol

Happy Anniversary you two! And just think, Heath and I didn't even have to drive Patrick through the Eisenhower Tunnel, then over Loveland Pass, then...to give you guys some time to have some fun!

Way to go, Perry - nice touches! (BTW, I agree with you about the ring thing...) :D

Teri forgot to mention that the room had a fireplace in it and a private spa out on the deck.
We were going to go walk around the town, but ended up spending to much time on the spa........

Gerald, that would be to much time IN the spa!!! lol

Heath you are right, it is hard sometimes, but I figure it is better to try and work on your relationship then to start over and still have to work at one with someone else.

The end of last year was a little ruff for us. In fact I have called it a hiccup in our relationship, but we have been working on getting it better then what it was before so that was the reason for the ring.
Teri hasn't told me direct because she knew I always thought a ring was a waist of money, and she replied to a post here someplace about never havingt a diamond so I figured it was time she got something she would really like even if it wasn't something I would want.

By the way Heath, Teri said I did good on the ring. Thanks for the info.

Congrats guys! That sounds so awesome. Way to go Perry! :) It's a tough road at times, but worth the trip if you're willing to work harder than you ever thought you'd have to. ;)

I think you should post a wedding pic for me. I love looking at wedding photos lately for sentimental reasons and to get more inspired (82 days to go!LOL).

I think everyone should show their wedding or prom pics on this girly forum. Maybe I'll contribute now that I am able laugh at myself.

Anyone? Anyone?

O.K. here is what the ring looks like and what I gave it to Teri in. The ring is half white gold and half yellow gold, which is a little different but I liked it.
It was really funny because when she looked at it she closed it back up and asked me; is that a diamond????

That is a cool ring, and a cool idea! I'd take a pic of the trash can that mine came in, but we don't have a digital yet. :(

I like yellow and white gold combined; Ryan and I originally wanted that as a compromise since he likes one and I liked the other. Then he totally went off track and just got platinum instead. But it's all good! :)

That Rocks! What a cool egg, and ring! See and everyone makes fun of ya or calls you a pansy a$$ when you celebrate things the right way. 21 years is awesome.... Em and I are far behind with 6 total, but it is all totally worth it. Have fun; maybe Perry will decide to put $ toward a spa now :D

A spa would be so much fun!! No room in the tiny house tho--and it would have to be a big one, as Perry is 6'2"!!
the one in Vegas was the best!!!

Did someone say Spas? Oh, SPA!! My bad! ;)

Seriously, congratulations guys-it sounds like you two definitely deserve each other!
It was really funny because when she looked at it she closed it back up and asked me; is that a diamond????

hahhahhah! When my Fiance held up my ring at dinner last August I had been leaning out the window of the restaurant to make sure no one was messing with my Explorer.....

I looked at him and said "Jason, that has got to be the WORST joke you have ever played on me....what cracker jack box did you pull that out of?!"

The 'crackerjack box' is also known as Zales  and he wasn't joking (much to my embarrassment).

Well done, Perry!

So, since I was doing a search for something else and came across this... Looking at the dates I'm guessing that you guys just celebrated 23 years!!! You guys must be having a killer time at home, we never hear from you anymore here on the board... Well, okay, once a week maybe...

Heath

Perry

Heath, you are pretty close. The date is Monday the 15th but we are celebrating kind of this weekend if you call just going out to eat then going to the DQ for something special. We don't go there very often because it's expensive.

We did buy a new mattress that fits inside our waterbed frame so staying at home isn't all that bad if you know what I mean!!!!:D

We decided to save the money so we can go to Moab this year.

Thanks for thinking of us Heath!!!!

Perry has always been "Perry"...
I changed from "Perry's Teri" to just "Teri" a little over a year ago because I felt the need to have my own identity instead of using Perry as my identity...but I was just thinking last night that I may change it back!

Thanks everyone, as you know we didn't do a lot because we are saving for Moab but Teri did get me a co-conut cream pie (my favorite) and tonight I met Teri at the door with a bouquet of flowers.
