We just got a nights worth of freezing rain, and LOTS of it. There's about 1/2 inch of snow and about 2 inches of ice on all the roads. SUPER SLICK stuff, I was sliding all over the place, but I did it on purpose because it's fun.

So, I went to the bank to deposit my check. I was parked next to the teller windows, and I was filling out some papers. The ATM machine is next to the teller windows, and there is a little ramp that leads up to them. So, this little rice burner car pulls up with with a 6 foot wing on the back, buzzing exhaust, all the typical ricer stuff. Keep in mind that the pavement is covered with ice. The car gets about half way up the ramp, then stops, he lost all traction. By now the front tires are spinning and screeching. The driver keeps on the gas, and the slippery ice caused them to slide sideways, then the slid sideways ALL the way back down the ramp.

Since this car was obviously front wheel drive, the genious driver decides that if he goes up the ramp BACKWARDS, it would have the same effect as a rear wheel drive! He attempts it, with the same results, this time sliding into the curb. He finally gave up and sped off.

LOL it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I wanted to jump out and say "that wing isn't giving you enough horsepower to get up the ramp?!".

once in a while when I see one of those things on the road it just cracks me up - people spend all that money on something that is really honestly worthless........ "wings", "coffee can muflers", "fancy shmancy bumpers - ground efects...... spoilers" etc, etc - typical riceburner stuff...... but if they like this stuff? heck - it's their money!! they could say we're crazy loading all that money in out POS trucks....

one more thing - usually when I drive my Audi and I see all those pseudo racers I stay far away from them - I don't like to "compete" with them - you think that I just don't want them to beat me on the road.... or at the light......???????????? wrong!
I can go places in my car and do it fast but I just don't want those rice boys kill their cars - and perhaps innocent bystanders at the same time....

I really hate when people spend money on a car just to make it look like it's something else...... (like roll your windows up in summer even thogh you have no A/C - just to make others believe that you have it or slapping a cell phone antenna on your window - even though you don't even own a phone - this one is kind of outdated anyway since everybody owns a cell)

Tell me this! How will a 4' rear spoiler help a front wheel drive car get better traction? Is it me, or do these people have a missing gean or something?

LOL, I was making fun of them because most think the wing increases HP by at least 50, and torque by the same amount. In fact, the wing doesn't even do anything but restrict airflow. :hammer:

just like all the stickers on their cars.......

what else would make my little rice burner go faster???? the only better thing in all this is that they only have to fill-up every other week and I need to visit a gas station every other day...............
that sucks but otherwise I'll take my truck over any of those tin boxes any day - no matter what the name of it is....... it will always be a rice burner to me.....

there's a Ford Focus around here that some highschool girl drives with the big exhaust tip, washer nozzle lights, etc....
and it has a huge decal on the front window that says "FOCUS ON THIS!" the rear window says "THIS BITCH IS FOCUSED"

i think it looks really funny. especially since it still has the factory 13" hubcaps. i think new rims would be a lot more important than a huge ugly metal wing on the back

see I don't get it..... people will be crying about no money for this or no money for that but they would spend hundreds on stupid things like "big ugly bolt-on wings", lighted washer nozzles, huge decals, "coffee can mufflers" - things that don't do shquat but make others laugh....

is it art or entertainment?

BTW I kind of like it when they call these things European this or European that...... and the fact that it has nothing to do with Europe has no meaning whatsoever.......

I know this isn't really related, but I have to tell ya'll about one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I was at the supermarket about a week ago and saw a guy high center his Hummer wagon on like a four foot tall snow mound. He sat their spinning his tires for five minutes before he got out to look at the thing. My twelve year old sister even knew it was funny.
