Short simple, and sweet: What is the difference between a Type I and Type II Compact Flash Card? (I know my camera supports both, but I was curious if there was a difference between them)
Not so simple... Are there any brands or manufacturers you would reccomend I avoid?
Thanks, gang.

Compact flash types I and II generally refer to the storage capacity and types of cards available. For instance, type II cards can give you more storage space and allow for other devices, like IBM's "Microdrive" to be used. A type I card can be used in a type II slot, but a type II card can NOT be used in a type I slot.
Basically, don't worry yourself about it, especially if you have both! Either way, you should have more than enough storage space for your pics. As for brands, they're all pretty much the same so I'd look for the least expensive. Still, you'd probably be best to stay with brand names you've heard of (SanDisk, Lexar, Viking, etc.).
