I really want a little different sound out of my explorer. It has 190,000 miles on a pretty much OEM exhaust system.

However, I don't want it to be annoying though. My buddy has a 98 Sport with a Magnaflow and a boom tube, which is HIGHLY annoying. It resonates like crazy.

I want a Flowmaster sound, but I am curious if they resonate much. I also would like to know if a hi-flow cat will do much.

Please tell me what systems you have, etc. If anyone has any sound bytes, that would be VERY helpful as well. I picked my exhaust for my Mustang using sound bytes =)!

A high-flow cat will do almost nothing for you. The stock cats are low-restriction already. Consider the flowmaster 40 series delta flow or the dynomax.

I did Dynomax b/c it has a nice sound, just barely louder than stock and certainly far from loud. My .02
