Please help this complete novice. How do you drain the oil on a 2001 mountaineer? Where is the drain bolt? Please help me!!:)

It's on the bottom of the oil pan, of course!

Go under there, find the engine, and then look at the lowest extremeity of the engine, you will see a flat area with the little head of a bolt in it.

By the way, the engine is the major piece of hardware you will see when you lift the hood. The oil pan is at the bottom of this major piece of hardware.

It will depend on which motor you have, On my SOHC 4.0m it is not on the bottom of the oil pan, it os on the passengers side of the pan,
