I know this might not be the place to post this, but I figure the gals here might have a better idea then the guys do on this subject.

You would think after using soap cleaning cloths the wash machine would be clean but it's not.

What can I use to clean the inside tub of the wash machine? I have heard to use vinegar but I don't want my cloths smelling either.
I also forgot to leave the led open for a while to let it dry out so it smells just a little, nothing bad but Teri is wondering if I know what I'm doing trying to help out around the house.

I use bleach. While it is filling up I wipe it down with an old towl and the bleach, then I run it and run it again with just water to get out the bleach.

I have been thinking of running some CLR through ours.

I have heard that too, but haven't tried it yet...

We have one of those dispensers for fabric softener, and well honestly I hate it...it works, but after a few uses it starts to grow mold/mildew. I used bleach in the dispenser and ran a few loads of whites thru so as not to ruin any colors, but it didn't help. Now I don't use it anymore and I like extra softener in my clothes. Any suggestions?

Oh, I and I don't like the downey or tide balls you fill and toss in....there is always some left in the ball and it gets on your clothes.

Michelle are you adding water in w/ the softner. If you dont do this it will get nasty! I use softner in every load and no crud w/ adding water.

Sounds like its time for a new washer! :D LOL My washer is nice and clean. If it gets dirty I wipe it down and clean it up. That grime that builds up does get annoying but it wipes off pretty easy with a rag once in a while.

Vinegar will really work! If you don't want the clothes to smell, run the washer with vinegar and no clothes in it. Actually, though, adding a little vinegar to your wash water is a good idea, particularly for whites, because it helps break down the residue left by body oils, sweat, and deodorant that can lead to yellowing.
