i'm tryin to tint my 98 x sport and its black and i want to tint it black with chrome flames. i haven't seen any so i was wondering if anyone had pics of this done on their car. also, i don't know how i want it, so does anyone know where i can look at some pics of this.......thanks all

they sell precut tint for Explorers and most other vehicles. they sell flame kits, various styles and colors of mirror tint, laser tint, holographic tint, and also make custom tint graphics.

they're a little expensive. you could save money by doing it yourself. as long as you didn't struggle through art classes in school, it shouldn't be a difficult project.

one of the custom truck magazines did a how-to article on flame tinting awhile back. i can't remember which magazine or the issue, but one of my friends used to have it. i'll ask him about it if i see him this weekend.


i've considered doing flame tint on my EX also. but, mirror tint would probably be a quick ticket around here. i'll probably use 35% black tint on the whole window, and then apply the flame pattern behind it in matching tint. or, cut the flames out of 20% black tint and a seperate piece(no layering) of 35% smoke grey tint for the rest of the window. i've considered colored tint, but i think a more subtle look would be better.
