I am just wondering how many people on the board actually own the rights to their explorer. Not your parnets or grandparents, YOU own it.

I just finally payed the last payment on mine a week ago so now the X is mine. Feels great knowing I can put that extra money towards the X.:D

Yep, its mine. paid it off last summer. Title is in my name, and I pay for everything but insurance.

I refinanced mine to buy a car for my wife, so I still owe about 3 grand. That was BEFORE I really started wheeling. It's probably not worth 3 grand in the shape its in now.

Now, all of you have to promise not to tell the finance company that I've beat ther crap out of their truck. :rolleyes:

Bought and paid for mine at the same time! Bought it as a welcome home present after the Gulf War. Surprising how much money one can save when there is nothing to spend it on!

ill be done with payments in a few months. i got mine while in college. 48 easy payments. of course the value of it has quadroupled since ive been driving it!!!!

Im 16 and I own mine.

My dad owned mine before I did, but he bought other Explorers with the intention of having one for each family member.

I ended up buying the original one off of him though.

Fully own mine. Payed for it in cash with money I made working since I was 14, lol. Pay all insurance and mods as well.

It was a gift to my wife from her parents. She has always loved explorers.....I'm glad!!!! It's hers and she lets me drive it:rolleyes:

yup got the title and all :). Now if I could pay off the F-150 I'd be set. Only $11,000 to go though (been making double and triple payments to rush it a bit)

I like to be able to say I both own and paid cash my 96 Xlt. As well as all maintenance and repairs, insurance and gas. I wish someone would buy me a truck.

My parents chipped in $2000 and I payed the rest of the $6000 of my '92 XLT. So it is mostly mine. I pay for everything else though.

Well Ford owns mine LOL. I had to carry a little over from a car I had. Kicks self just should have got the X and not even thought about the car. LOL

Bought it new in '97 and made the last payment 2 years ago. It was fully stock for 5 years. :cool: I kept it showroom spanking new for the first 3 and half years before I started using it to commute to and from work.

Paid cash for mine up front. I own two of my three vehicles out right. Not a bad feeling.

Its been mine for awhile. I paid it off about a year after I bought it.

I bought my '93 xlt new off the lot and finished paying for it in '98 (yeah it was like the 5year college plan)

Technically, none of the above. It's registered to a now-defunct publicly held company. Since I own 33.3% of the company, and can legally sign over the Explorer's title to anyone I choose, I figure the truck is "mine".

Well unfortunatley, GMAC currently owns the rights to mine, but I own the priviliges.....Till its paid off anyway.

The scary part is mine has 118k on it and hers has 81k

I've had my '98 since Oct'97. Right now I've got 36 payments left on my wife's Focus. Were it not for that,I'd trade my Exploder in a New York minute. I'd go back to a Dodge pickup.

My Limited is being bought on an interest free loan from my parents. About half way done.

As far as my XL, well, I paid the cash and fees from the used car dealer. However, my dad helped me get new tires are crap like that. My mom paid for registration and plate, but I paid the insurance.

My mom owns and pays for it, I just pay for gas....sometimes.

Who wants to own there car!!lol, errrrrr oh boy, hmm, only lil over 11k, on the x, and just bought a beater of 97 mazda truck to drive to dc and back every day, 2k for that, hmm, maybe i should of thought about getting alittle older of a beater payed for, seems like most of you allon here have sucess w/ out too much money for repairs, :thumbsup: of course if i dont have a carpayment i guess i wouldnt be :roll: upside down w/ my x,,, or would if i kept driving like i did, oh welll, eddie b version next,

I have had my '97 X paid off since 2001. Not having a car payment for 3 years is very nice. More money for beer.

I'm 17, owe 2800 on the x, pay ins., gas, and work my tail off. wouldn't have it any other way though....unless anyone wants pay off my loan for me :D

I paid 3200 cash for mine when I was 17 (1.5 years ago). I pay gas, insurance, and mods. This makes having a steady job a prerequisite to owning a car. I always hated kids whose parents bought them cars. As fas as I'm concerned, theres no better way to hinder your kid from being successful than buying them a car and paying for gas, insurance....etc. It just makes them lazy.
