Seems to be most prevalent after warm up. 46000 miles Alec 05-13-2002, 04:02 PM Welcome! A true misfire is usually due to a bad sparkplug. However, you can be getting misfire-like symptoms from a dirty Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAS/MAF) and other components. I'd check the plugs and clean your MAS and see what happens. 46k is a bit early for a plug change, but it might be time to change your plugs and wires. Perhaps I could have better identified the problem as an intermittent skip. The skip happens sometimes usually while going up a grade. The check engine light has not come on. The engine start fine and idles fine too. Nothing jumps into mind as to what could be a definitive root of your problem. Hopefully someone else has an idea. |
