So, Maranda, how are your wedding plans shaping up??
Let us all know!!! When is the date? Soon, isn't it?? Tell us all about it!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Arrrragh! LOL Thanks for asking though. :) 3 weeks, 2 days left...

If you click on Ry&Mar, it will bring up our "bio" (got me some good HTML practice) and our web page. http://www.theknot.com/co_mbmaink2kpost.html?folder=C2001009&Object=1019703518076500

The expenses are ridiculous! We're very low-budget, and still have to come up with about $1000 to pay off the "little" things on the big day (pastor, tux, hotel room, etc).

But it'll be worth it in the end. And then my stomach will un-knot itself, too. I'm off to work, I'll check back later!

and I'm sure you guys will have the BEST best man in the history of weddings! LOL j/k

Oh yeah, and last night I had an anxiety dream that the bridesmaids decided to exchange their dresses for ones that were the same color, but with disney characters on the front, instead. LOL

I'm not too stressed, but sometimes it does show itself in weird ways!

LOL now that would be bad!!!

I thought that would've been somewhat funny. I am still waiting to see if my brother pulls any funny stunts...

Yep we are down to the nitty gritty stuff and that is about it.

I'm sure everyone says this, but just don't get stressed. It seems like the wedding industry has become such a circus, and everyone in your families have "suggestions" for parts of the wedding. The major realization that my wife and I made in the months before the wedding was that it didn't matter what went wrong, she and I would still be walking down the isle. Man, that was a lot of weight off the shoulders, and we just decided to make a concious decision not to be stressed about it. I'm not saying we didn't want everything perfect, we definitely did, its just that if something is going to go wrong you can't do anything to prevent it, so why worry. I've got pics of my wedding at http://www.noskis.com/wedding
Good luck!

All right, did we jinx something today by talking about it or what? Maybe I'm being punished for complaining about money. You're right Chris, it's still going to happen whether we have flowers, a hotel room, all that stuff. Ryan was laid off today so that definitely puts things into perspective. :(

You all will appreciate this. The day started out hilarious! I got a call from my mom, she was trying to book a room at the hotel that I have 15 rooms reserved for. She called the 1-800 number on our invitation enclosure. Guess what? I sent 90+ invites out with this number: 1-800-831-ROOM. You guys call it and have a laugh at my expense, okay? :D The real number is 1-888.... Talk about major wedding un-etiqutte!!!

So...uh...just exactly what hotel has that number??? I'm packing my suitcase right now... :D

BTW, just in case I forget to say it later, I wish you guys all the best on your BIG DAY and for many years to come!

OMG what a nightmare!! Perry had me call that number...hope you don't have guests that will be offended!!! I'm glad you didn't put my phone number on there, I wouldn't like having 90 complete strangers calling me for reservations!!!!!

I sure am sorry to hear about Ryan. Hope he finds something he likes even better than his last job!!!

Good luck with the last few weeks of your wedding planning. I do like the cupcake tower you are going to have. Neat idea!!!

Hey, I also want to see some pictures posted after the wedding!!!!!!!!

Maranda

Thanks, everyone. :)

We're getting our folks to spread the word about the wrong 800-number, at this point we're just having a laugh and hoping no one freaks. The grandparents are the ones I was worried about calling that. LOL

I hope Ryan finds something even better, too. It's just scary right now but I know it's just temporary...

We will definitely post pics. Both Matt and Ryan wearing a tux will be a classic in itself.

I'll be all dressed up with nowhere to go since there will be no hot single things there, THANKS MARANDA!! ROFL. THat is too funny about the phone number :).

Whats worse is I will have one of my co-workers (the HR lady) at the wedding as well since she used to be neighbors with maranda (small world eh?) so the whole office (if we are still around then, argh!) will get to see me in a sharp tux! :).

My wife and i were married almost 2 years ago now. The best thing about our wedding (besides marring the girl of my dreams) was the money dance. if you have a DJ or whatever. Have him stand both of you in the middle of the dance floor and make everyone who wants to dance with the bride and the groom give you money. :D My wife and I did that and we made almost 1500 bucks (mostly from money that she got) :D

This might sound greedy, but it's not and it's alot of fun.

Friends of ours did that over 20 years ago. I thought it was a great idea then, and a great idea now!!! What a way to get extra money for the honeymoon!! Of course when will you have time to do any spending of money!!LOL
And, no, I do not think it is greedy!!! People have a choice to dance or not to dance!

Hey guys, I just wanted to wish you a happy wedding (I think that's it, maybe happy marriage, or something, whatever it is  :D )

BTW, if one of you want to PM me your address, I'll try and get a small "present" your way before the wedding.

I'd also just like to say that it's great to see two people like yourselves getting married. You're both awesome people in my book, and if you need anything, just give me a hollar and I'll at least try to help :D

Good luck with everything!!

Talk about weird wedding dreams!!!
Last night I was having this dream that I got to the wedding, realized I forgot the tux, had to go home, came back, only to realize I'd forgotten it again! So I was way late for the wedding, everyone was pissed because can't have a wedding without the best man and Ryan and I got in this big ol fight. Then I dreamed I was hanging out with Ryan in his garage or something telling him about this weird dream I'd had about his wedding and he was like "dude that really happened!" th en I dreamed I was logging on to here to tell you about my weird dream... I wonder if I'm awake now... LOL

LMAO! Well luckly for you the tuxes will be waiting for you at the chapel! LOL

So you're feeling it too now, huh? I had this dream that we weren't going on our honeymoon, or getting a room on our wedding night, or buying alcohol for our wedding. Oh wait, that's not a dream. LOL I am sick...

It'll be okay, that is what I keep telling myself. :)

I keep worrying about Ryan miscalculating the time it takes to do stuff, so you guys both had better keep each other in check and on time! Otherwise I'll just marry his brother or some other guy who is present. LOL Hey it happens on the soaps, right? LOL

mattadams
05-16-2002, 08:33 PM
LOL, well I'll be there earlier... unless of course that wedding assistant that measured me for the tux happens to be there, then I might be a little bit late... LOL j/k.

Wow, just 2 MORE WEEKS!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

To add to the wedding drama, we found out last night that when we go on the Alaskan cruise, the first two nights of our honeymoon I will be on the ship by myself.Ryan has to fly straight to Alaska and avoid the Canadian part of the trip due to his banning last summer (long story, do a search if you don't know it!LOL). So I will leave from Seattle and meet him in Ketchikan.

Happy honeymoon to us! LOL Ah well, it was a gift to us. Beggars can't be choosers. :)

I hadn't realized you two were heading up here. Any idea what your itinerary is? Are you just doing the southern coast, or are you coming up towards Denali?
Its beatiful and hot up here, the leaves just turned green, and we've been hovering between 80 and 100 degrees all week!
Hope you have a great time!
Chris

I finally read the thing this morning and it looks like we'll pick up Ryan in Ketchikan, and then there are stops in Skagway, Juneau, Sitka, Hubbard Glacier area, and finally Seward.

Everyone else is staying for a 7 day land tour which I believe includes Denali, but we're just doing the southern area from what it looks like. Then going home. :)

I have no idea how to pack us, but if it's that warm it will be great! Right now we have snow in Colorado.

I spent several days in Denali! Nice area, try the sourdough pizza :). Hopefully the honeymoon will be a blast! That's hilarious about Ryan getting banned, do you think they have his picture at the border patrols?
WARNING: Consider this man armed and dangerous. Shoot to kill.

LOL Naw... Its in their computer database. Although to get back in they did want a FBI backround check performed on me at the cost of $100 or so.
