Just curious what everyone does ON THE ROAD. I have the front sway bar connected and the rear taken off... what about everyone else?

I run both mine on the road. Both of which are upgraded Saleen bars. I disco both of them offroad for more articulation and less tooth rattle :)

So Saleen bars are the type that randomly reconnect themselves, eh? :D I still don't see how that happened...

I hadn't bungied the swaybar up cause the bushings usually hold it in place (from now on though, using a bungie). The swaybar swung back down and one of the endlink bolts found it's way into the bar.

So yes, it spontaniously reconnected itself.

On road, I run both. Off road, the rear gets disconnected.

Jello because I selected 5 boxes and then realized I only had 4 options...

I took my rear one off, and half the time I run my front one and the other half I don't, depending on my mood.

I run on-road with my front bar most of the time and disconnect it while my tires are airing themselves down.

As for the rear. . I threw it away :)

I love my sway bars and the love me with my X being as high as it is, there is way too much lean without them but offroad, a few pins an bolts and they are free!

The front one stays connected most of the time. The rear is usually not ever connected up. I don't even have bolts for it anymore. Just some pins that don't fit all that great but fit....

Front is connected on the road, but I disconnect it off-road. Rear has been off for 2 years. I can't even put it back on the way I have my shocks mounted.

Having the front disconnected on the highway does make a BIG difference on how it handles.

I run both connected on the road, but disconnect them for off road use.

I just realized that every person that's responded to this is an Elite Explorer w/ an avatar And then Adam went and messed it all up:D

I've just been disconnecting the front when wheelin. I think the next time I go out I will disconnect the rear and see how much it helps.

I think I could use a little more flex in the rear.

I tried to vote for jello but it keeped saying I couldn't at this time.

I throw my sway bars into the scrap metal bin a long time ago. Didn't seem to make too much of a difference on-road

how easy it is to disconnect the swaybars? i still have the factory ones. if i take the factory ones off when wheeling, can i put them back on when i get onto the road quickly? or is it a long job to do?

I found it a pita to pull off the rear sway bar it took me about an hour. The bolts where tight and covered in mud so that didnt help to much. :) I took my rear swaybar off the truck definantly sways more but it doesnt bother me much. As for the front when i go wheeling i can pull out one of the links so it acts independently. Though Ive heard when you do that the only thing holding it all up is the shocks and with the cheap POS's ive got on there i dont take the front one off often.

Well I'll have to go in and edit my vote. I love mod powers :)

I took my rear completely off. With the new shocks and addaleaf I don't feel much difference. I still use my front bar though. It only takes about 3 minutes to disco (5 cause I have to get the tools out). Without it is bearable, so I just leave it discoed all weekend.

I love how when you vote in these polls and don't post it automatically comes back up to the top as a "new post." The last post was from July 2002.....Anyway....I enjoy jell-o.
