Ok here's a little story...This happened last night (6/10) at around 11:30pm in the Explorer listed in my sig.....
So I'm driving along and I'm about 400 feet from the beginning of my neighborhood....As far as I know there was no one behind me because I didn't see any lights about 2 minutes ago (honestly, I didn't check, but you can usually see headlights, ya know?).....All of a sudden, seemingly out of thin air, there's this flash from a car that was RIGHT on my rear bumper...He was flashing his lights at me and reving his engine....Now this is a single lane road, so he couldn't pull up along side of me...Anyways he stays RIGHT ON MY rear bumper until about half way down the main drag in my neighborhood and puts on his turn signal and eventually turned (I'm about 99% sure he wanted me to go where his turn signal pointed)...I figured he lives in the neighborhood and was going home, but something made me want to investigate....So I turned down a parallel street and came to the end of it making a right and then another right so I was heading head to head with him where he would have been going....When I get midway through that street, I see him sitting at the stop sign, so I put my lights on high beam to see the car a little bit better and its a cream colored Audi A4 (I saw no S4 logo).....As soon as I get within 50 feet of him, he takes off down the street going OUT of my neighborhood....I decided to follow him and try to get along side of him to see who it was because I have exactly 0 friends with an Audi A4 (I racked my brain until I fell asleep last night).....Anyways, he obviously wanted to race me but I have no idea why and when he saw me....To my knowledge, I have never seen that car before in my life....I did at one point make out that it was a kid (probably like late late teens to mid 20s) with a girl who's hair showed about an inch above the headrest in the passenger seat....As for the racing bit, we never got to a stoplight, but he did realize that from behind I was catching up to him regardless of how hard he was pushing it....I think he was mad cause he just kept on driving fast and NOT ONCE did I get along side of him to look at the person.....
I was just kinda freaked because this guy seriously materialized on my bumper out of no where....I would have noticed him coming up earlier as I'm always glancing in my rearview for cops....
I guess me and my Explorer's fame is spreading and people are starting to take notice, because there aren't any stickers on my car to denote that I have any performance stuff under the hood(Except for a small silver Superchips sticker on my rear window)...I dunno....just was wierd....People I don't even know wanting to race me and doing all of what that guy did (following me into my neighborhood, etc) in order to do so.....just wierd...The out of thin air thing freaked me out too...
