Just a quick question for you all.

I have the 401 error code and it turns out my DPFE is shot. I went to autozone to get some prices,
I was going to buy the replacement today, but i read some post from another ford message board, saying you should only get this from Ford due to the MANY changes they have made Is that a true statement or some misinformation?

The only thing you NEED to be sure of is the exact part number, especially the last 2 letters, either AA or BB.
The diffence is in the connector, one fits, the other don't.
so other than making sure it is an exact match, go with cheapest. I was forced to buy mine at the dealer cause no one else in town had one and I was in a time crunch. Turned off my CEL though !

Another thing, make SURE you get the 2 vacuum lines w/it. The Fords came with the 2 lines. Mine were so bad I had to cut them off to replace.

Does it matter if the the two vacuum lines are reversed or is there only one way to connect them correctly?

Its a little tube... shouldn't matter.
