View Full Version : Which 35x12.50x15 for me?
jimbo74 06-27-2002, 05:33 PM Yokohama Geolandar MT @ $130
Goodyear Wrangler MT/R @ $125
BFG Mud Terrain T/A KM @ $146
Dunlop Radial Mud Rover @ $118
Kumho Road Venture MT @ $104
Jason_25 06-27-2002, 05:58 PM Is there a choice for other?
thats a great deal on the goodyears. . .how you managing that? Not that I think they're better than BFG's
jimbo74 06-27-2002, 06:01 PM NO.... there is no choice for other......
just post what your pick is if it falls into other... i can get the above tires a lot cheaper than retail at the listed prices above......i also wont pay for balancing, or mounting, and will have a road hazard warranty on only 1 tire.... the tire store will never know what tire that one warranty is on ;)
Working at Wheel Works has its perks ;) also....i cant hook anyone up.... :( we are only allowed our discount twice a year......
Jason_25 06-27-2002, 06:22 PM Why don't you go with a super swamper? Tsl perhaps? If you're gonna go big, you may as well go with big tread.

Jim, now all you have to do is get a discount on a road worthy Explorer to put them on!:D
Robb
jimbo74 06-27-2002, 07:30 PM my truck is road worthy... i drive it everyday.....

ahhjaws 06-27-2002, 08:02 PM Oops! Maybe I should try reading everything before I post.:D
I voted for the BFG. Though you might want to look at getting them siped.

Anything is better than BFG's. Not sure why everybody likes BFG's so much. I had a set and they were horrible in every aspect.

I disagree. Pro Comps have to be worse.

You're right, Pro Comps are worse, but they weren't on the list. I was just stating that any of those tires on the list would be better than the BFG MT.
Actually, one tire that is not on the list that is better than the Goodyears are the Xterrains. Rated better than Goodyear MT in sand, rock, mud and street.
Think about a tire that performs instead of a tire that has a popular brand name.
RFR2212 12-08-2002, 06:53 PM I'd probly do MT/R's as well... BFG's :thumbdwn:

ProComp makes the Xterrain.
sorry BFG haters, but i voted for the BFG's. they must have some serious quality control issues, as i had a set about 5 years ago that lasted over 50k miles, and performed well for what they were. obviously when you compare them to a swamper, they suck. but for a radial street oriented mud tire, i thought they did well. am i missing something?
glfredrick 09-10-2004, 03:05 PM I'm probbly the only one that votes for the Kuhmo's, but after running most of the other tires, I am going back to them - they stick best - wear best and are easiest on the wallet.
Next to BFG's they flat rock...
They wear better than Pro-Comps
They work in muddy sticky stuff better than the MTR's - (every thing is better than the MTR's in mud!)
They are soft - so they grab rock great - and you don't have to radically air down - 15-18 works great - no blown beads that way.
They don't chunk like some of the others either.
XplorerKid 09-10-2004, 05:18 PM LOL, this thread is almost 2 yrs old :p
