My 94 XLT will not start all the time. It turns over but will not start. I let it set for 15 min to 1 hour and it will start. It doesn't seem to matter if it is cold or hot.

Also you can put your foot on the accelarator or take it off and it will not start. Also the fuel gage doesn't work all the time.

Well, first thought that comes to mind is the fuel pump. Easy way to partially diagnose it:

Turn the key off, open the door, and turn the key to the accessory position. Thats the one right before you would turn the Ex over. Listen towards the gas tank for a buzzing sound for 1 to 3 seconds. That is the fuel pump pressurizing. If you don't hear it, try it again. If you still don't hear it, you may have solved your problem or at least have a good idea of where to start from.
