Heres the story- its a 97 Sport 4x4 with TT+Warriors, going from stock 255 70 16s on 16x7s to either 15x8 with 3.25" or less backspacing or 15x8.5s, dont mind the overall tire diameter being lower than 255 70 16s even if i have to recalibrate speedo but definitely want width in the tires. Not even trying 15x10s for many reasons (fit, wear, fuel).
Here are some possibilities, I realize some might be exaggerations but I'd appreciate a reply if anyones ever tried fitting any of these:
29x11.50x15
30x11.50x15
30x12.50x15
31x11.50x15
31x12.50x15
32x11.50x15
Ive been looking at BFG, MT Bajas, Procomps, not sure who else makes all terrain tires. Is there a place that sells these sizes relatively cheap?

I've heard that the 31x11.50x15 will work, but I have the BFG 311X10 15'and with stock shocks I did bottom out a few times, so you might want to get something with a little more punch than the stocks offer

I would go ahead and try the 32X11.50. I know that 31x10.50 will fit with no rubbing. The 32x11.50 with only be about a 1/2 taller and about 1/2-1" wider. If you go to summit racings web site, they will tell you exactly how tall and wide the tire will be. It may say on the side of the tire it is 12.5" wide but in reality it is only about 9.8-10" wide. If you check some of the big off road retailers, they usually run buy 3 get 1 free sales with free shipping. And personally I would go with the BFG's or Pro Comps because they are good off highway and you can usually get between 40,000 and 50,000 miles on a set. Just my thoughts...
Justin-
thanks for the input. What retailers other than 4wheelparts have these 3 for 1 specials? Havent been able to find any others, especially on BFGs.
Im still trying to figure out whether to go with a 15x8 rims with small backspace or with a wider rim, wider would give the tire less bulge but rim itself (ex.8.5") is wider and has more backspacing->potential fit problems
I wonder how bad 31x12.50s/325 60 15s would rub, i guess theres no way unless i had about 4" total lift.

I got my tires through summit racing a couple of months back for a real good sale, They were like $120 a piece. I run 33x12.5 on 8 inch rims, and if I could do it again, I would use 10 inch rims. Why?? Because the tire will wear better, and it will make any tire wider than before. If you have problems with fitment, do not be afraid to get a little creative with a sawzall or a BFH. You can trim or bend enough where it still looks stock yet you have better tire fitment.
