over a month and a half ago i bought an intake online from this guy Ben Jenkins who lives in Texas. He has sold intakes to guys on the forum before. I still haven't recieved it yet! He said it would be 2-3 weeks and its been at least double that! He communicated with me at first, but he hasn't responded to my emails as of recently... i hope i get it soon! i am starting to worry that i got jipped. keep an eye out for ben jenkins... and you might think twice before ordering from him.

Same topic is going around in the group purchases forum. I too am waiting, paid him on June 20th. Hasnt responded to my last 3 emails. PLUS, hes still selling them on ebay right now.

Did a little digging on ebay, and see he has sold 4 more kits over the last couple of weeks, still taken the orders for them. One guy waited from the end of May to get his a couple of days ago.

just got my tracking # tonite, he said he had problems with the kits being delivered to him, so I guess I will have to wait till in arraives in a few days and see. He was really slow responding to e-mails though.

I purchased mine July 16. I have not received a tracking # and Ben will not return my emails. He claimed it would take 2-3 weeks to receive the product after it is purchased, its been over that already.

Got the following email from him today
Hello,

I do apologize about the delay. I had sent out notifications to everyone w/
an Explorer intake kit, it must not have reached you (I will send them out
again, just to be sure). I usually receive a shipment each week of these,
but the last two shipments have been delayed. I have been assured they will
be here next week. So, as soon as they arrive they will be shipped out.
Due to the delay, were are including a free K&N Recharge kit w/ each order.
Thank you for your patience, and I will get you the tracking number as soon
as it ships.

I got the exact same e-mail like 2 weeks ago. but my intake should be here the 14th so, I will post then, I would advise people to stop ordering from him.

Purchased June 10. Received same e-mail as above. Still waiting.

my brother (sickboarder) got that exact same email 2 weeks ago too... hes still waiting, and hasent heard from ben since.

Kodiak, anything arrive yet? Did you track the number with UPS ? This is starting to piss me off, the guy just keeps on selling them and cant deliver them.

tracking # says it will be here tomarrow, did you ask for a refund I did and then next day he sent a tracking #.

Still no reply as of today for my refund. Posted negitive feedback on Ebay about him. I am thinking of doing a "buy it now" on every kit he puts put there until he responds. Then I can change my name like he did. The A-hole.

This is the exact reason why i am scared shit to buy things online.

This is the first "bad" experience that I have had with buying something on ebay. All my other transaction went just the way they should go, you pay for it and they send it to you. I should have thought twice when he said a 3 to 4 week period for delivery AFTER I paid for it.

I started the group with the 91-94 intakes through Ben and we didn't have a problem until we started to get orders over the group purchase amount. All the kits in the initial group purchase went out no problem. I am sure you guys aren't getting the kits becasue he has either had problems getting materials or something else has disabled him from getting them out.

Due to inclement weather here in Houston on Friday, UPS was not able to make
it to the shop to do their pickup (we are in an easily flood area). But
they should be picking it up today w/in the next few hours. If for some
reason they do not show up, I will be making a run to the depot to make sure
these get out today. I will get you the tracking number as soon as I can.

Anyone else buy one from him thru ebay AND leave a negitive feedback about him. He has responded to your negitives and says the kits are already shipped and everything is fine. Hasnt told me anything yet and said its one the way.

10 weeks later, I got the tracking number this morning, due in Sept 3rd.

Bought mine on July 16th. Still no sign of an intake here. I email him once a week at least and have gotten one reply.

I tracked mine, I will get it tomorrow. I started asking for a refund and that seemed to get him moving. Along with myself, there are two other guys that bought it from him off of ebay that left negitive feedback to him, he responded all it well and the items have been shipped. I am waiting until I see it tomorrow to make sure its correct and not damaged, then I will respond to his response about we leaving a negitive on him.

I received an intake kit, it didn't fit. The pipes were wrong. I am sending it back. I bought the kit because of this site, and I will never buy anything through paypal. I am thinking of buying the Ifab.com kit and making the two fit. I want a better intake for mileage, but am not going to use P.O.S. parts on my X. Very dissapointed. By the way, I paid 180.00 for mine cause I missed the group by and I'm not a computer geek and don't have my own email or computer. And I am a former mechanic by trade.

You guys are saying you got ripped off buying an intake. I am curious what brand intake?

I am not saying I was ripped off, because I will get my kit today, BUT, this guy is selling these kits on Ebay under the name ballistic performance. He also was using (but is not anymore) a picture from Ifab.net to show you the kit. Ifab and this guy are not the same company. Ifab.net is selling them on ebay under the name sport truck racing. Although things appear to be the same, these are two different guys.
Eddie, what do you mean you ARE sending it back, did you just get it from him? I think I should have got the refund.

Well, I just tried to put it on but it doesnt fit. It looks like the fan shroud needs to be removed (like in his picture, its missing) in order to sit "down" correctly at the right angle. Anyone have any tips or pictures of this thing installed on their engine??
I did manage to get the air filter on though with the stock tube.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this is why I'm so leary about buying anything off of Ebay. The other day I purchased an Explorer windshield decal, but checked the seller's rating and comments (which were 95% good feedback) FIRST. Although I did ask him Monday if it was going to be shipped Tuesday and he said yes, but then today I get an email saying that it should be shipped in no less than 3 business days. Oh well, as long as I get it fairly soon.
