Why cat they build one of these things where the spare tire is actually directly in the middle?

Start looking at them on Jeeps around town, you will notice the spare tire is always a few inches from being right in the middle, unless they are trying to move the tire over, thenit would be okay. But to me it looks like they attempt to put the tire right in the middle but it always sits to one side.......

I would love to get the schematics on that bumper. Anyone have access to measure one up? I would appreciate it as just going to build my own.

If ya think about it, I am going to have mine built where the tire is to the drivers side. I can look out the drivers door to see what is behind me and whenever I look out the rear I am looking behind the pass side more than the drivers side(you would have to turn nearly all the way around)
