The 4.0 (5 speed manual) is dying right after starting, just as I back out of the driveway. Once I restart and take off, everything is fine. It seems to want to die about 10 seconds after starting, the rpm's just drop to where it chugs and tries to die.
Just this week I had it in for some work, in an attempt to fix this. Here's what's been done:
New Autolite plugs
New PCV valve
New Fuel filter
Ignition wires checked, they're fine(replaced 1 yr ago)
MAS Air Flow cleaned.
Other stuff done:
replaced radiator hoses/flush and fill.
brakes checked and are fine
clutch checked, fluid fine.
2 light bulbs changed in dash.

Any ideas on what's causing it to die? Once I get going it's fine.

Does this seem to happen when the engine is cold or hot? I have a similar problem with my 2000 X Sport. When the engine is hot and I restart it, it'll drop down to about 100rpm, almost die, and jump back up to 500-750 rpm to idle. Happens ONLY when it's hot. I thought it might be a vacuum leak, but I checked manifold and ported vacuum at school last night and the vacuum was great. Replaced the IAC, PCV, plugs/wires, new MAF but nothing has helped. It has only died on me twice since I've had it, both in the summer when it was really hot. Hopefully someone out there will give us both some ideas... anyone???

It seems to be first thing in the morning, so I'd say when it's cold. Hope someone else has run into the same issue. I haven't check anything related to the IAC, maybe its that. O2 sensors are newer, I've got replacements maybe I'll throw in this weekend and see how they adapt to that.
