They are a 15X8 w/ 4.5bs and and a 31X10.5 BFG
I have looked around and the tires will fit but the back spacing is a concern.. I think he has a 2000 X

All the Explorer wheels are interchangeable. Model and year doesn't matter.

Like Jeff said all Explorers have the same bolt pattern. However, the stock backspacing is 4.5, so 4.5 8" wide's might rub a little on the inside (stock wheels are 7" wide). But you shouldn't have much of a problem, especially if the other X has 2" of lift.

If he has a 2000, then the Torsion Twist and Warrior Shackles is the easiest way. You will probably need an alignment afterwards though. Do a search on Torsion or TT or Warrior and you will find tons of info. Quite a few of us are running this setup. It's cheap and easy :p (Just the way I like it :D ). Costs about $50 + an alignment and only takes an hour or two if you have a socket set and are handy with a wrench.
