i currently have a stock 1993 explorer sport .
it has 255x60-15 on it . i want to get more height and im thinking about the 30x9.50 . how tall is this tire and how much taller is the 31x10.5 compared to it .
i think the 31x10.50 will be to much for my stock explorer so do they have anything comparable in
between the 30.950 and the 31x10.50 that i could put on safely

According to this: www.therangerstation.com/Metric_To_Inch_Tires.html, those are 27" tires.

ok i have a 96 explorer and its completly stock but i have 30x9.5'' bf goodrich all terrains. the tires fit the car very well and they look + handle very good, i was thinking of putting 31's on it but i didnt want to do any trimming so i went with the 30's.

as far as i know a little trimming and a torsion twist will fit 31's nicely.

there are some tire shops that will give very good advice and try different tires untill they get the biggest ones

but as for me i am glad i got the 30's: they look good even on the stock rims and the car still gets good mileage and works good scince i dont need then i think the 31's would have been a poor choice.
