i have an occasional whistling noise in my '02 explorer.

it is very annoying!!

it only occurs when all the windows are up and the sunroof is closed.

[i have checked the interior vent on passenger side and it is open]

doesn't ford use anti-whistle radio antennas?

anyone had this problem?

anyone have any thoughts, ideas?

thanks

peter

In older explorers, a whistling noise could be from the IAC valve, or from the tranny. Or you sure it's just air seeping in somewhere?

thanks jason_25

it is definetly coming from the top of windshield area or sunroof, maybe passenger door seals.

am i the only poor bastard with this problem?

I test-drove a '97 once that whistled pretty bad from the factory roof-carrier. Maybe that's it.

My '98's radio antenna does have an anti-whistle sleeve (smooth and fat) over the bottom of it. The '97 I test drove didn't have one. Does your '02?
