View Full Version : factory "headers" for '98 5.0? 98GT-40P 09-03-2002, 10:24 PM I've been reading folks referencing factory headers on their 5.0's; some even talking about stainless steel. My '98 MM has some hunks of cast iron that travel UPWARD from the exhaust ports and meet together BEFORE the collector. This seems like it would almost be called more of a manifold than a header. I know a lot of people are using the FMS Headers for the 96 Explorers and modding them to make them work on the GT40P heads. jjue 09-05-2002, 12:20 PM It's really a "header," so to speak, although it does look more like a manifold. At least the ones that I have seem to be stainless behind the foil covering. 98GT-40P 09-05-2002, 04:15 PM Aha! So there are different exhaust manifolds/headers that come stock. I don't have foil heat shields on mine at all. Can you post a pic or link? I'm feeling "cheated" a little because mine came with the cast iron. :( |
