I've searched the threads and found that replacing the heater core in explorers is relatively easy (as compared to other cars)..

Does anyone know if 2000 models are exactly the same procedure as earlier 90's (the one's most people are replacing..)

I need to tackle mine shorty and the instructions I have want you to remove everything from the inside of the hood for the AC first, then move inside the vehicle and replace the core.. I'm hoping I can get away with just removing the inside cover and replacing from there (like many others on this board that have done their 90's models).

P.S., I believe I cracked the neck on mine when replacing an cooling hose that rubbed against the AC box under the hood.. in case you are wondering!

Please comment!

Thanks in advance,
