Last week I got my first X. It's a 94 XLT and I love it. The bodys in great shape, it runs like a dream and I really love the leather interior. I never previously thought about getting an SUV, but my son's boss was getting a new one and the price was too good to pass on it. It was suppose to my husband's ride and for going to the lake, but I've taken it over. He'll be lucky to get his hands on it ever again! Tonight it goes in for audio installation and tomorrow morning for complete detailing. I don't have a ton of money to work with so I don't think I'll be doing a lot of custom work but I sure enjoy seeing everyone's pictures and hearing about your current projects. I do plan to make a speed grill and if I can find clear corners for a 94, I'll install those too. Any economical or essential upgrade advice will be most welcome. Especially do's and don'ts.

Welcome to the site, now that you have admitted you have a X, the addiction is a lot less painfull (but just as expensive). Good luck! As for advice, leave all the "My kid is...." and AYSO bumperstickers on the hubby's car! :D

If its an Automatic have the fluid changed. Explorers have horrible transmisions. The best thing is to change the fluid every 30k and get a good luck rabbits foot to keep in the truck.:p

Got stereo system installed-Kenwood CD deck, and from my son's disabled Merc, Rockford 12" subs, Kenwood amp, and Cerwin Vega speakers. I also made my grill insert ($1.98 roll of gutter guard from Menards). Ordered bug deflector, clear corners, NDSU license plate frames, and custom decals. Tonight the hitch platform gets sanded and repainted. Havin' fun now!!!
Was shown how to post pictures here- don't have my own yet, so I'll borrow from someone. Bear with me as I really am a novice at this.http://www.explorerforum.com/data/3021/4452ass.jpg

Just wanted to welcome you to the board and it sounds like you already have been bit by the "BUG"
Then you will ask your hubby to help you with something and he will get hooked and then you will be fighting over it.... :D
Just to let you know there are a few people here from your state and they do get together once in a while, so watch the board.

Hey Ryan
Yea, we get up to the cities a lot. My husband works in Oakdale, so when we go to the cabin for the weekend, I pick him up there and we head out on 694 to 10. Hastings isn't in Wis. you know--we're only 30 minutes from WBL. In fact, your high school football team, beat our defending state champs this past Friday. We' ll have the rematch in the section playoffs!!! See you on the freeway.
