SaleenEXP 09-14-2002, 10:11 PM I can't stand Country (maybe b/c I'm 20:D: ), only rock (Disturbed), new age metal (Lincoln Park and 3rd Strike) and some Rap (wu-tang clan and outkast for example), all that new rap "bling bling" crap sucks. Distubed's new song is amazing. But anyways heres the pic, click on this link:

SaleenEXP 09-14-2002, 10:31 PM oops, DOH!, I just got that County/Inbreeding moniker, sorry didn't mean to offend anyone in that lives out in the country:) I'm a little slow tonight;)
dogfriend 09-14-2002, 10:34 PM that's pretty funny
if you feel bad about trashing country music, I thought of two other alternatlves :
Ban Jerry Springer
Ban Trailer Parks :D

Screw country:D , I felt bad when I realized that Country/Inbreeding moniker, meaning anyone who lives in the Country practices inbreeding:o
Raceit 09-14-2002, 11:57 PM LOL Dude that is fvcking hilarious!
SaleenEXP 09-15-2002, 12:14 AM I keep looking at it, and those smiley faces (if you want to call them that, LOL!) keep cracking me up. I'm gonna print this out and put it on my friends truck from Kentucky, that'll be hilarious.:D

Even more popular is proper english and rereading your post for crazy errors. Now you can go home.

Thank You MBrooks!
I dare someone to find one kid (again I'm 20) that listens to country in my city. Hell my mom can't stand it, she likes what my sister and I listen to, rap and rock, got her hooked on Limp Bizkit and she loves Trick Daddy and OutKast:D . Have you ever seen a country song on MTV or BET, noooooo, thats why they have their own channel, and if you ever saw a ratings report you would see that country is way, way, way down in ratings compared to other music no matter how popular you think it's. Oh Yeh, I could just see myself rolling out to some Garth Brooks on my over 1,000 watts stereo in my truck, oh yeh I'm rollin hard:rolleyes: . No offense to anyone that listens to country, this thread was not to make you think I was dissen it, it was about the funny ass country/inbreeding sticker b/c you know that saying applies to it. I just said I couldn't stand Country and thats why I thought it was funny to show that sticker. If you didn't get it, oh well, you have a simple mind. Again this wasn't my truck, it was off an Mustang Forum!
Uuhhhh...
Garth Brooks vs. Disturbed = Disturbed (listen to their new song and you'll see why Rock is more popular, BOO-YA!)
You may listen to country and think its popular and you like it, good for you, but trust me your in a very small % compared to rock especially or rap.
EDIT- ummm "Go Home", uhhhhh? I'm in my living room.
Mbrooks420 09-15-2002, 01:26 AM gotta love a mom who listens to Trick Daddy:p

I know, all of our friends get a kick outta it when their over, this is the best - she and my sister both cried when 2-Pac was killed. She's only 44, I'm turning 21 and sis is turning 19, but my mom doesn't look 44 at all, people are suprised when they find out she is our mom. She looks like she's in her early 30's.
What music do you listen to anyway? That new Disturbed song is awsome. It was pretty funny in highschool (and I still do this), like one day I'll roll up with some OutKast on and the next day I'd have Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park, on over a 1,000 watt stereo you can't imagine how loud Limp Bizkit or like Disturbed is:D
Haha, I gotta print out that picture and stick it on my friends truck but not tell him it was me, this is gonna be funny.
Kinnish 09-15-2002, 01:49 AM Whatever......country is the heart of the U.S. Who is more patriotic than Toby Keith?. I listen to rock and rap, but country is my favorite....and yes you can bump to country, that just shows how little you've listen to. Don't ever use Garth Brooks as your stereotypical country music, he is olld news man, get a clue. When I'm sober, I'll flame this some more..heh
james t 09-15-2002, 03:03 AM well, i have probably the most experience with country music of all. i was fed it since birth, and thats all you listen to in the house/car with my parents... and all i can say is i hate it. now dont get me wrong, when im in the mood, i like some ol' Hank, young Hank, Charlie Daniels, and other "old, real" country music. but, for the most part, it makes my skin crawl. same sh!t, different song. singing "oh my darlin' left me with my best friend and took my dog" give me a F.N. break. sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. and BTW, that Toby Keith song is awesome (you know the one im talking about). just about the only "new country" song i like...
yob_yeknom 09-15-2002, 04:00 AM I HATE country music! And I live in a freakin' redneck little town, so you'd figure I'd love the stuff. Hell no, it's way to pathetic.
Who wants to listen to a 45 second (the writers must all be too stupid to come up with more than 2 verses and a chorus), crying, babbling song about some pathetic loser's life troubles?
~I lawst my dawg an' I don't know wut ta dooo. And my peekup browke and the wyfe threw me out for beein' a alcohawlic loooser.~
Yeah, bump to that crap. I'd probably piss my pants from laughing so hard when I heard you drive by. :D
Don't agree with me? Fine. It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.
JDraper 09-15-2002, 08:31 AM Around here, 90% of the people listen to country, but it's not my style. Classic Rock!!
Ya know what happens when you play country music backwards???
Your wife comes back
You get your job back
Your dog stops biting you
Your pickemup truck works again
Your daughter isn't pregnant by her cousin
Your trailer doesn't get foreclosed....
terdrocket 09-15-2002, 08:53 AM listen to Hank III. I hate country, but Hank III is more like thrash metal/punk of old days.
mosinman 09-15-2002, 10:54 AM Old country music is OK. Almost all the new stuff is just pop music with some fiddle thrown in. I would still listen to it before RAP. Talk about the lesser of two evils......
mattadams 09-15-2002, 10:58 AM I like country, and yes I believe country is more popular then rock in many areas of the country, for the same reason that more people show up for a Nascar race then do for 5 football games combined. There's a little redneck in a whole lot of us.
ahhjaws 09-15-2002, 11:08 AM Rock on, Rock!!!:D

Ha ha. Heck, y`all don`t needs no practice fer that, it just comes natural like. Hyuk hyuk.
I don`t know what the heck RFR2212 was saying either, LOL, but I`ll leave that alone.
:D
There are some cross-over stuff that is classified as country that I don`t mind. For some reason I like Johnny Horton, but that`s a nostalgia thing from when I was a kid.
One thing that makes me puke, is the sameness of country music, sometimes it`s the same damn song played over and over with different words. Some might argue the same about the blues, but Country has it`s roots there, and I`ll take blues over it any day. And new country is so clean and polished it is just over-produced IMO. And geez, some of these Country crooners with that country "twang" in their voice, I just can`t relate.
Don`t get me wrong folks, I have some music tastes that people don`t get either.
It`s all about what stimulates the individual, that certain blend of tones, harmonies and beats that tweaks something in your brain and makes you feel good.
One of the most basic appeals of music is the age old "tension and release" the tension builds until a point that is is released at some kind of turn around. You can find this in any genre, and it is pleasing to the old brainstem. ;)
Well I`m babbling, but music is one of my fave subjects, on which I have studied extensively.
One last thing:
If you keep buying Country music, they will keep producing it - PLEASE STOP!

LOL, that's great.
Here in Atlanta we've got a lot of redneck mixed in with a lot of "bling-bling ballers" or whatever. It's so great to drive through Buckhead on a Saturday night: Escalades on 20s blasting rap, kids in cars blasting rock, and there's always that one busted up pick-up blasting country :D

First, Look at the license plate North Carolina inbreeders Paradise.
Second, It all goes back to personal preferance I think Explorers should only be Lifted. If its lowered than you've got problems.
What does that mean? Who cares enjoy the Music you want.
If you can do any better I encourage you to try. Lets see if you get any further with your music career. If you can't do any better, I your to scared to try that SIT DOWN & Let the rest of us enjoy!
Just be cause you don't like it don't bash it because others prefer it. I always thought that Nascar was the biggest waste... Until I had to catch a Flight out of Raleigh I was late, speeding at 110mph things go by very fast, the slightest touch of My Thunderbirds steering wheel I was changeing lanes. Now think of going twice that fast, inches from the car next to you, inches from the wall and tell me you don't respect that!

(younger and STUPID) I was going mainly straight, I couldn't imagine tacking another ~80mph to that and going through a turn. Anyone here would probably piss their pants.

I`d rather play "Free bird" outside a liquor store than be a robot from Nashville. And yes, it is about personal preference, I fill up VERY quickly on country music. Let`s not get carried away though, I can dislike a certain music or band, but I don`t yell "turn that s**t down or pick fights with people over it!"
My girlfriend LOVES Sinead O`Conner and bagpipes. Can`t stand seeing Sinead`s face let alone hearing her music, and bagpipes just scare me, It sounds like someone beating a baby with a cat! But she`s still alright...
So let`s not get nasty people:D

I was also force-fed country as a kid, but that was when it was still called Country and Western. New country simply sucks, old country is still tolerable to me.
Every song after say 1990 or so is just flat out the same. The songs all have some one singing their problems. If it is a woman singing, it is about her guy cheating and drinking, and if it is a guy singer, it is about ther wife kicking him out for said cheating.....

You just described my county to a "T". Can you say "Redneck Heaven???" We even have Paw sittin on his front porch with his shewtin iron in a few places. This county has about 7000 people in it, and most long time residents are related. Look in the phone book and the last name "Stoltzfus" takes up 3 pages in a 100 page phone book! . When we first moved here, we went to a local restaurant for dinner. When I handed the girl my card to pay, she took one look at my last name and said "you aren't from here, are ya???". Now that's small town hick!!
james t 09-16-2002, 08:48 AM yob- hell yea, let's start writing. i think we could come up with an entire album in a few minutes. i play guitar, and maybe we could start touring and be the next "Brooks and Done" and yes, i spelled it wrong on purpose...
Rick- i HAVE to be in the area were Deliverance was filmed. go outside of Arkansas side of town and you will see the kid with three eyes and teeth all the way back to his ears playin' the banjo. i swear, i was in E-Z Mart the other day an some fat guy in overalls told me i "sure have a purdy mouth". i didnt know if i should kick his @ss or run like hell... and i bow hunt. this is starting to get really creepy... guess as long as i stay away from canoe's, ill be ok...
LMAO to both Jeff and James stories;)
mattadams 09-16-2002, 10:47 AM Adam, I don't know the exact details but I do know it is the most viewed sport in America...
luckily theres not too many rednecks around where I live, though I think one of my neighbors is a hick but hey thats just life :).
Well I'm not a fan of Nashville country at all but I do find offense in that bumper sticker. I listen to a type of music by Texas Singers and Songwriters, like Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, Montgomery Gentry, Roger Creager, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Alan Jackson, etc... Many people call it country but it isnt. Hell most of these guys wont go anywhere near Nashville. There is even a song called Nashville Sucks. Now, I'm guessing that 75% of yall would consider it country and would just group it in there with Nashville stuff and would consider them inbreeders. But they aren't. Yall see a redneck or a hick and consider them inbreeders well most of them aren't. I have friends here from places like Vidor, TX, Kilgore, TX, etc... They sure do talk funny but they don't reproduce with family. So for those of you who classify a particular style of music with things like inbreeding, go ahead and keep up with your stereotyping. There are people that will stereotyppe you for the type of music you listen to as well.
Now don't go gittin' all uppity, ya hear:p
mattadams 09-16-2002, 11:39 AM aintree? This aint the way to aintree! Your goin the wrong way boi! :)
james t 09-16-2002, 12:28 PM ok89- there is a BIG difference between rednecks an inbreeders. BIG difference. you just havnt been anywere that has had inbreeders yet. Texas really doesnt have many. if you ever met me, you would think IM a redneck. most of us "east texans" all have that Mathew McConnehe (however you spell his name) accent. i hunt, shoot, own tons of weapons, parents have cattle, have spent many hrs. on a tractor, bailing hay, etc. etc. i just dont listen to country. and yes, i know of the music style you refer to, and i DONT classify it with "new country". most of us here are just pokin' fun at new country, you know, the same crap-different act-stuff. i dont think anyone here has a problem with the "real talent" acts.

Man, I wasn't going to get into this, but after reading that, I can't help my self.
First off, It all depends on where you're from. I am from Western NC and love that state. I have lived in 4 different states since then, presently living in Oregon, and you will be hard pressed to find people half as nice as the folks in Western NC. Here in Oregon, it is like you step back in time 15 years or something. People don't finish High school, no body goes to College, and the best way to put it is "redneck want a be's" not even full rednecks. I have lived in Or for almost a year, and can't get over the way people act towards each other.
SaleenEXP I know you don't shop at Walmart, so I understand how you can't know what I am talking about.
As far as Music Goes, I listen to a lot of different things. From Jimmi Hendrix to Kid rock to Nickel Creek to Nickel back and don't forget Nelly, and a little R&B. I enjoy country music, because for the most part, it brings me home. I listen artist as much has I can. Take for example Alan Jackson. In my opinion, one of the most purest country singers today. His song about 9/11 was the best of all. I wonder if half of you even heard it.
Don't mess with NC. !!

nkexplrr 09-16-2002, 04:07 PM Rap and some rock is too angry. The only angry country song i can think of is the new toby keith song, but everybody hates rag heads anyway so it doesn't matter. All you here in the rap songs are drugs, rape, murder and violence. I'm not prejudiced by any means but from listening to rap on occassions I'm surprised that there are rappers left to sing it. Black on black violence makes up almost 50% of the deaths in this country which is horrible considering the are a MINORITY. Guess what % of minorities fill this nations prison's. Well i'll give u a hint it is the same as the ones committing the crimes. I live in the south and feel like africans should never have been brought to this country, it wasn't right and now we have a big problem on our hands. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Pretty funny that you mentioned that, although some people may think we're well off, trust me we do not just blow it or anything. My moms two favorite (actually she's obsessed with them) stores are TJ Max and Marshalls. Mainly the only stores here are Saks, Burdines et. ect. and I don't wear all that preppy sh!t:D . Only Quicksilver and Billabong;) , and those are the best places for it. It's pathetic how much they charge for clothes here, my sis works at this clothing store down the street and just a tank top there is $180, and the best way I can describe it is that it's a wife-beater with some studs. We have one of those Super Walmarts or whatever they are called and god damn is that store huge, you'll get lost in it:p . The mom or daughter lives here (from the Walmart family), there always having like fundraisers/charities through Walmart. Got my first Mountain Bike from there to!:D
EDIT - people from N.C. kickass, all the people at my school that I've met from N.C. are mad cool and very nice, it's like they all have a laid-back quality about them.
EDIT - again I wasn't trying to offend anyone with this thread, I just said Country sucked and thats why I thought that sticker was funny.
And yes, I printed it up (the sticker), and stuck it on my friends truck whose from Kentucky (the one w/ the lifted Denali I talked about) he thought it was funny as hell. And Kentucky is also know for those mutated smilie faces:D
If you took offense oh well, I only got into it when people thought I came right out and bashed Country which I didn't, but at least almost everyone else agreed with me including the Mods.! :D
4.0SOHC 09-16-2002, 04:49 PM SaleenEXP, you didn't say anything about NC, it's just that there is a large percentage of the US, that people who live in higher class America doesn't know anything about. I lived and Worked in West Virginia for a short time. and the state as a whole was beauiful, but there are people live in shacks and honestly don't know or care about anything out side of them. I am not ragging on WV, Trust me. I am thinking about moving back, but yes Country music is simple, funny, and sometimes down right stupid. But you have to remember that alot of people relate to it. Even me sometimes. For example I couldn't go down to Fl, where you live and say "man it was hard growing up, sometimes we ate pinto beans for a week" and anybody even understand what that means. I am proud of my family and where I come from. I am the first College Grad in my family and am doing well, but will never forget. Hard times breeds Good, Thankful, people.
SaleenEXP 09-16-2002, 05:13 PM If you thought I was aiming at you, I wasn't, so sorry about that. I just thought it was funny that you mentioned that Walmart thing!:) That's what I meant, not that I was angry at you or something.
I fully understand you, it is sad that their are less fortunate people, and as stuck up as this city is here there are plenty of areas that could be described as the "ghetto" if you want to call it that. And quite a few people that drop out of highschool, probably to leach off mommy and daddy and it's like their parents don't care, sh!t, if I said I was dropping out of highschool and not going to college to my mom and that I was going to leach off her, Ha! I would be kicked out but only after she and my grandparents whuped my ass!:D

I'm doing good also (not easy when you go out a lot, so I stopped going out as much and partying), so good luck too, it's a lot harder than high school thats for sure. My gradparents told my mom she could go to the University of Hawaii but she wanted to stay here w/ my dad and they got married when they were 20. I would have loved to go to Hawaii, but I would probably skip every class and go surfing so that wouldn't work out;)

I think maybe Africans the same way, but like it or not they are in your country, they are American citizens, and are your equal. If you hate them, you hate the American ideal of "the melting pot". It`s caucasian views like that that only compound problems.

nkexplrr 09-16-2002, 07:21 PM I presented proven facts and my opinion that it is immoral for any human being to own another. Sure these problems can and will be worked through and Sept. 11 has done a lot to unify this nation. Anyone who thinks that this nation does not have problems with racial discrimination is blind. I simpy stated the obvious fact that without the obviously wrong committed by enslaving africans in the first place some of the racial problems would not exist. I am not a racist and any who construe me as such are well ignorant!!

Yeah, and without the "slaves " maybe the change to the course of history would have led the US down a road where it was not the world superpower that is is today!
What if Hitler won?
What if bunnies crapped jellybeans?

GJarrett 09-16-2002, 09:09 PM I agree the post doesn't come across as appropriate. However, it is difficult to judge the nuances of the written word without the benefit of the spoken word while seeing the body language, hearing the voice tone, etc of the opinion. For that reason I am not too sure it deserves flaming reactions.
"and now we have a big problem on our hands." Perhaps those closing words are the problem. Perhaps there would be a more politically correct way of stating this, though I am rather weary of political correctness. Maybe nkexplorr needs to retract that part.
Let's look at the rest of the post.
"I live in the south and feel like africans should never have been brought to this country, it wasn't right".
Sounds kinda antiracist to me. Regardless of your race, is anyone going to disagree with it? Huh? http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/confused.gif
"Black on black violence makes up almost 50% of the deaths in this country which is horrible considering the are a MINORITY. Guess what % of minorities fill this nations prison's. Well i'll give u a hint it is the same as the ones committing the crimes."
Is this racist, or mere recital of fact?
After recounting a scary moment in his life involving a black aggressor, Doug Briggs noted in his book “A Matter of Personal Protection” (Beverly Publishing Co, Houston, 1995, 800-955-2665) the following:
“What is the relevance that he was black? Because the chances of a black male being a robber are roughly ten times that of a white male. Roughly, I say, because my gut feeling is that it is closer to twenty to one, but I know I’m on firm ground with the lesser figure. Jesse Jackson is black; he is also not one to deceive himself about basic facts of life. He was widely quoted as having remarked that he is relieved to discover that the man walking behind him on the street is not black. Like Jesse Jackson, I am suspicious at the approach of a black man.”
=================================================
Why Jesse Jackson Fears Blacks: Source; Stat. Abs. ’93, CJS-622/2.5 (Rates per 100,000 population)
Jail/prison inmates: 19 black per 3 white
Persons arrested: 103 black per 36 white
Murder offenders: 30 black per 3.5 white
Homicide victims: 83 black per 12 white
=================================================
Be honest with yourselves. You are walking in a not-very-lit area of town at night with your spouse and child. Two or three people approach you. One scenario is that they are wearing suits and/or nice clothes. The other scenario is that they are young, caps on backward, pants down, etc.
HEY! What race did you just picture the first group? The second? Which one are you comfortable with? Which one will you bet the lives of your loved ones with?
We are all "racist" per some idiot's definition. My question is to question if it is racist to be racist. Profiling? Hell yeah if it saves my son's life and mine. It's not racist it is common friggin' sense and I won't apologize to any bleedin' liberal for having it.
Before more flames ignite, I point out that I am merely stating statistics and another’s notes regarding their relevance. And irrespective of any arguments about racism in the system the statistics overpoweringly show the trend, including the sad stat pointing to the irrefutable link between blacks murdering their own kind. Is a white person to be castigated for noticing that? As in, do you really have the gall to tell me that I am in the wrong because I witnessed it when you killed your own family?
This board has debated tough issues including abortion and other issues at a civil level far beyond any other website in the world. This thread can become one of them or it can get closed/deleted depending on the further responses. Let’s see how we do.

spiper 09-16-2002, 09:40 PM Wow, this thread has gone way out there. I like some of all kinds of music. Why is there this need to bash each other? After reading this thread I am wondering to myself why I bother.:(

Sorry, for the trailer park thing. I was linking trailer parks to inbreeding, not country music. Like all stereotypes, it doesn't apply to everyone who lives in a trailer or in a trailer park. I would guess that the majority of people who have appeared on the Jerry Springer show are not actual inbreeders (it just seems that way).
I have relatives who like country music (I like some bluegrass myself) but they are not inbreeding (that I know of)
I have had friends and relatives who have lived in trailers. None of them are inbreeding (that I know of)
I have never known anyone like the people on the Jerry Springer show, so I can't vouch for them ;)
Although I realize that the bumper sticker is not politically correct, and uses a stereotype (which is not correct politically or otherwise) I still find the bumper sticker amusing. If you are really offended by this, I think that you might be taking the whole thing way too seriously.

The reason I said that is 1)I am 20, at my age what do you think most kids grew up listening too? ummm... hip-hop and rock. What has dominated the youth scene, ummm. hip-hop and rock. At this age you grew up through the increasing popularity of these types of music. 2) I can't think of another person my age or younger that I know that would listen to country, no offense if you do. Maybe thats just city I live in. If somebody wants to bump to country, hell go ahead, I only started bashing on country (along with just about everyone else on here after people), but I'm not joking when I say you'll pry end up pulling up to a bunch of kids in an Escalade or something that will get and go after you. It's happened quite a few times, mostly after the other guy started grilling or something thinking he's a hard ass.
I agree with you on one thing, Linkin Park rules!

Thank You dogfriend! Again this was not to start bashing Country, all I said was "I hate Country and thats why I thought the sticker was funny", and then people started thinking I was bashing it. If I wanted to really bash Country I would have said some stuff that would have probably gotten me kicked off this board! But if you took it the other way, you got one hell of simple mind;)
EDIT- Didn't anybody else think that sticker was funny?:) :D Hell my friend is from Kentucky (pretty good description of living in the Country), and I printed out the sticker and put it on his truck, and he got a kick out of it.
GJarrett 09-16-2002, 09:58 PM Oh yeah,
I think country rocks (intentional play on words). I grew up on Grand Funk Railroad, Three Dog Night, Styx, Deep Purple, etc.
But also Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle, Willie, and many others. As far as complaining about how it all sounds similar, I think that's silly - especially when rap and almost all new hard rock is more of the same 'ol same 'ol and I hear "new" hits that I heard thirty years ago.
Music feeds the soul. Let it do it without being uppity towards how others get fed.
BigDave 09-16-2002, 10:17 PM I'm not prejudiced...I hate everyone equally...(especially during the Chi-Town rush hour). :D

GJarrett 09-16-2002, 10:35 PM ....I think it's kinda hypocritical today in America when others make fun of the irrevelance of country music while Alan Jackson and other C&W singers sing of "What were you doing when the world stopped turning" on 9/11:

but everybody hates rag heads anyway so it doesn't matter.
Forgive me for not understanding a view like that, it was in the first few lines of what started this racist thing. the words hate and rag head in the same sentence. I took it like you were referring to East Indians, or is that some kind of new band name? I don`t hate rag heads.
Then the rest of that post... well, come on. The only defense for that is more racism, sterotyping and derogatory comments.

Speaking of delicacies... I heard on the radio that there is a "new" coffee available in Vancouver, CA. It's made by feeding a specific coffee bean to cats. The bean goes through the cat undigested. It's then "cleaned off" ground up and served! The stuff costs like $120 for a quarter pound since they only produce about 500lbs a year.
Mmmmmm....

I've noticed that the 'alternative' or 'shock' bands seem to pick names that are either one, two or three words long. The examples that I can think of right now: Dead Kennedys , Insane Clown Posse.
I was in Tower Records a few months ago, and I was looking through the punk / alternative section and all of the names of the bands seemed to fit this pattern. Its like they are all copying the same formula in their quest to be different.
Anyway, if you are in a record store with a large selection of punk, check out the names of the bands; some of them are hysterical.
I always thought "Loogey Puke" would be a great name for a band:)

The only vehicles that have stickers are usually "my kid is an honors student" and all those religious types of stickers. I'm actually the only one with an Explorer here that has a sticker and it's a big "Riva-Yammaha" sticker across the back window, its a bike/waverunner/honda dealer.

It's about time we started a new topic.....;)
About 4 yrs ago, my girlfriend and I traveled to Berzerkly for the 2nd Annual "Be as Berkeley as you can be" parade (I'm not making any of this up).
They had several floats by different groups including the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) float. Right behind the first PETA float was the second PETA float (People Eating Them Animals).
The second PETA float had blood covered guys with chain saws and animal pelts draped over the sides of a flatbed truck. If I can find the pictures someday I'll post them on the web.
diablo5969 09-20-2002, 11:58 PM PETA is just one of those groups that takes everything to the extreme. But, unfortunately, it's run by environmentalist wackballs with money. And just because it's pro-environment, they're going to get tax donations from people who don't really have any clue what PETA does.
(I'm sorry, it's just that after PETA activists kill one of your dogs, you get really agitated with the whole thing.)

diablo5969 09-21-2002, 08:30 PM Nah. The less PETA knows about, the better
dogfriend 09-21-2002, 08:35 PM Nice kitty, nice kitty....just swallow the damn coffee bean, alright?
Rrrowwwww......Hisssssss.......
That explains it! Damn Canadians
Hey! I live about 20 mins out of Vancouver and I never heard of it!
If I hear where they sell it, I will definitely try it out for you all and tell you where you can order some, etc.
:D
dogfriend 09-21-2002, 09:54 PM Next time I'm in Canada, remind me not to drink any coffee.
I'll stick to the beer, which always tastes better on that side of the border.
You guys are making the beer in the conventional way, right????

Ohh man, theres only one way to make it, haven`t you seen any of those national geographic show with old bush-women spitting into wooden bowls? Now picture your grandma... Americans are too picky. :D
Heres the dirt on the coffee, and it`s not just us who drink it. It`s gathered from a monkey like animal in Indonesia called the Palm Toddy cat. Lol, what a thread:rolleyes:

dogfriend 09-21-2002, 10:13 PM Quote from article:
US coffee shop owner Richard Karno ordered a pound from Mark's firm - but only after he convinced him it wasn't a joke.
He said: "It's the best coffee I've ever tasted. It smells musty, but it
roasts up real nice"
Picture the scene in the 2nd Austin Powers movie:
"It's got a bit of a nutty flavor"
Apparently, we're not as picky as you think we are ;) :D
diablo5969 09-21-2002, 11:13 PM The monkey - known as the Palm Toddy Cat - lives on a diet of alcoholic tree sap and coffee berries.
Only in Indonesia: the monkeys drink alcohol, and the people drink their crap :D
Here's an ariticle in the Washington Times. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20020325-78733448.htm
Do you think I could start a business selling digested corn niblets????
dogfriend 09-22-2002, 01:12 AM washington times link won't work - maybe they moved article?
Weird, it still works for me. Look up: cat coffee idonesia in google. You'll find a bunch of links.
dogfriend 09-22-2002, 01:50 AM I found same link with Google, but I get a page at Wash Times saying that they can't find the article...I had to use the cashed version on Google

Can you convince someone that the digested corn niblets are worth more than the raw material? Try to market them as a weight loss formula.
If I were more dishonest and unethical, I would market this idea:
Dogfriend Brand Beer Activated Weight Loss Formula (tm)
They only work if you chase them down with beer. You can lose up to 10 lbs / day * while watching football on tv. :chug:
* actual results may vary

The digested corn niblets pick up a "distinctive flavor" while still maintaining their original shape and texture. This and the fact that I can only eat a few hundred ears of corn a year should make the product somewhat rare and worth about $300 a pound:;)
diablo5969 09-22-2002, 10:58 AM Mmm mmm good!
Raven's Brew (www.ravensbrew.com) is a coffee shop in Alaska that sells this coffee.
If you go here (http://www.ravensbrew.com/NewFiles/kopiluwak.html), you'll come to the Raven's Brew website about the coffee. It's got a picture of the cat, and you can even buy Tshirts!

That's pretty good. Can you somehow convince me that this is more healthy somehow? Another angle is the environmental impact:
"This product is beneficial to the environment. It is completely organic and no pesticides are used in growing or processing this product.":D

Also cuts down on sewage and landfill use!
Gonzo 09-30-2002, 02:46 PM I like country music, but I thought that sticker was hillarious!
