Hello Everybody!

Well I figured I would finally start my own thread, about my favorite subject!:D

Little History: 27 years old, Engaged (1 month away), Commercial Air Balancer for small family business (VP), home owner, B.S. degree (Cum Laude) in Business from VCU

Explorers: '95 EB 4.0 4WD & '96 Limited 5.0 2WD

The Limited is my work truck and will stay close to stock. It will prolly get a KKM and duals when the muffler needs replacing (a V8 ain't a V8 without duals).

The EB will be my toy. Scary part is that after paying attention and reading posts for months now, I am more confused than ever on what exactly I am going to do to it. Original plan was TT/Shackles & AALs and 3" BL and 33x12.5s. Of course that is up in the air now, and I am considering alternatives. Ask me know, ask me tomorrow, then ask me the next day...........you will prolly get 3 different answers! Engine will stay about stuck except, of course, a KKM and cat-back.

Here is a link to the Before pics of the EB: '95 EB (http://robbva.tripod.com/robbspage/id2.html)

You Guys (and Gals) Have a Good One!

BTW: This is the Limited

My first Mod to the EB (well, after AALs). It should have been about mod #19, but I just had to have it. A CRL Customs (http://www.crlcustoms.com) rear tube bumper and tire carrier.

Yes, that is rust. It is just bare metal right now, so it is gathering a lil surface rust.

Thanks for the compliment!

It does look good Robb!
But where is the licence plate? I can see the plate lights hanging down, but where are you putting the plate? In a holder?

Thanks Guys!

The plate location remains undetermined at this point. Cory @ CRL could have mounted plate mounts anywhere, but I decided to get it and play around with a couple of locations to see where it would look best.
Time to go get some primer.................

The X is back from Cory @ crlcustoms (http://crlcustoms.com) and the YJ D30 is installed. Got the 35s today and they are on.:D Rancho 9000Xs will be installed this weekend (if the fronts ever get here:rolleyes: ). Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, it will be drivable; at least 2WD with open 3.73s in it. Stuff like a front driveshaft, gears, and lockers may have to wait awhile:( , but that is okay.......there is still plenty of smaller stuff to play around with on it.

so it looks like the Tortion twist is on hold for a while then. ;) look what this site will do to you, you were planning on a small lift and 33's, you ended up with a solid front axle and 35's. looks great dude!

*slight rant on*

Well, after getting a lot of comments like "does your truck move yet Robb?", "at least I take my truck wheelin Robb" and "your rig is a lawn ornament Robb", I guess I should post on it's progress and future plans.

All the work on my truck is done on a gravel/dirt driveway (see earlier pic). I have no garage. As anyone who lives in Va (or any part of the east coast) knows, these past couple of months have been VERY wet and time to be able to work on the truck has been limited.

I am also a husband and home owner. Anyone male and married here knows what it is like to try to heavily mod a truck while having a wife. It is not a perfect situation to say the least. Now that it is Spring, the house begs for its own attention. I am an true DIY'er when it comes to the house and putting time and money towards the house is a MUCH better investment than putting the same towards a truck. I figured out once that for every dollar I put into the house, pays me back two dollars; for every dollar I put into the truck ends up costing me two dollars. Most of my extra money at this point will go into the house until Fall. If I had unlimited funds, this wouldn't be the case, but, it is.

IMO, there is no point in rushing to get the rig done as quick as possible and skipping corners here and there. At this point, the plans for the "YUPPIE" are: regearing both ends, ARBs at both ends, front driveshaft made, hi-steer for the front, custom leaf packs for the rear, tranny swap, some engine mods, roll cage, and a bunch of smaller things. I could skip some steps here and spend a bunch of money on getting it "half ass" done just to be able to take it out, but IMO it isn't worth it. I will spend the time getting it done the way I want it done. Sorry if that offends the "get it done now" gang!

Right now, the plan is to have the X done (this phase) in the Spring of '04. This timeline should allow plenty of time to save up a little, and time to find deals on the components I need.

Don't mean to sound "whiney" here, just sick of the comments that I have been getting lately. If you were in my shoes, you would probably make the same decisions.

*slight rant off*

yeah, at least you don't have to rely on the EB for daily transportation like I had to. Did you get those springs worked out yet? adn can you get it around the yard to tell if the steering is working properly, like I said before, that's why I pulled the D44 out from under my truck

we're just messing with ya with the poking fun man! i know what you mean though.. i do all housework myself too and it gets priority by a long shot! and the wife usually dictates when the house needs work. so don't worry.. your not the only one in that situation! just have it ready for tellico next spring!

Get it done so you can come wheeling at GWNF this year (fall, winter, spring)!!!

Actually, take your time cause I don't think I will have my t-case fixed by then...
