If you still have a door open it flashes and honks twice. tbomb 11-17-2002, 06:26 PM Originally posted by addkev On mine if you press the button twice it flashes the lights and honks the horn. If you still have a door open it flashes and honks twice. same here, and i believe it does it on my sisters 96 also, so ostatesman, you should be good to go. 03ExplorerSPT 11-17-2002, 07:40 PM On my '95 it does that too. So the '96 should do it also. tenikiwon 11-17-2002, 08:51 PM Firgured I'd throw a '97 in the mix Ostatesman 11-17-2002, 09:26 PM Is their anyway to get it to flash the lights on the first button press with no horn ? '96explorereddiebauer 11-17-2002, 10:16 PM Mine flashes the headlights and parking lights along with the horn chirp when you press the lock button twice but I don't think there's a way to modify it. I know for sure that '99- Grand Cherokee Limited and the '01- Town & Country Limited with the vehicle information centers have the capability to program a bunch of stuff, including the behavior of the security system. 03ExplorerSPT 11-17-2002, 10:37 PM Well I guess you could go to the dealer and ask for it to be programed like the Escape's. I don't know of the other models but I know on the Escape the parking lamps flash on the first push of the button. Ostatesman 11-17-2002, 11:11 PM I can only imagine what they want to charge for that. Jason_25 11-17-2002, 11:28 PM I would like this too to have a confirmation for my doors being locked without having to scare people with the horn :( '96explorereddiebauer 11-17-2002, 11:34 PM Well, there's a programming for that. But here's the catch. If you disable the horn chirp, it will also disable the alarm. So if the alarm goes off, only the lights will turn on but not the horn. The operation is still the same--press twice to confirm and all that good stuff. If you want more info, I'll post it if I have time tomorrow. Ostatesman 11-17-2002, 11:34 PM It's a standard feature in almost any after market alarm system. It seems silly ford did not include it. |
